This website can exclusively report that maverick national chairperson of the Democratic Party (DP) electoral commission is urgently looking for the intervention of the party president general who is also the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs in president Museveni’s government Norbert Mao to save him from losing his job after being served with a firing letter.
Highly placed sources in DP told Ono Bwino that on the 2nd of January 2026, Kennedy Mutenyu was shocked when the party’s Secretary General Dr. Blacks Gerald Siranda served him a firing letter in the middle of the party’s election committee which is supervising the ongoing campaigns of all the party candidates especially Members of Parliament and Local Government.
“By the way, I was supposed to chair this meeting on zoom but because, I wanted to deliver this letter to Mr Mutenyu, I decided to come. Sir here is the letter, thank you for whatever you have done for this great party,” a source who was in the meeting quoted Siranda.
As Mutenyu was opening the envelope to read the letter, Siranda handed him another envelope telling him that it was a token of thanks for what he had done for the party. He immediately adjourned the meeting and promised to communicate the next date when they will convene.

This website understands that for months, Mutenyu has been in a silent fight with Siranda who he accuses of interfering with his work especially when he decided on who to be given a party ticket and releasing the nomination fees to the party candidates without consulting him.
Being a nonsense man, Mutenyu on several occasions has been verbally attacking Siranda accusing him of sitting on his Shs10m appreciation token which Mao directed that it should be given to him because of the good job he did during the party’s national delegates conference in Mbarara this year where him and Siranda were re-elected at gun point.
“Siranda listened when Mutenyu embarrassed him on a radio talk show that he is boasting before some people that he is a doctor but when he checked his papers, he even doesn’t have a master’s degree. The statements angered him and he swore that he will revenge on Mutenyu,” a senior party official said.
He added that Mutenyu didn’t stop there, he accused him in a number of party meetings of being a womanizer claiming that he is using the party’s money to take married women, girls to ghettos lodges in the city. He even threatened to report him to the husbands and parents of the victims with evidence.
Sarah Adong the party’s head of women affairs was not happy with Mutenyu’s allegations and responded by physically insulting him with punches and slaps. Mutenyu was only saved by security personel at the party headquarters along Balintuma Road in Lubaga division.
This website understands that in several meetings, Siranda has been telling Mutenyu that he is in the said office because of him.
He has been even boasting that he has powers to fire him.
Mutenyu was assigned in the said office in 2020 party delegates conference in Gulu city after some party National Executive Committee members faulted the party’s secretariat for letting the cashier Martin Wakooli to be an internal election manager as well, which was bringing the party into disrepute.
When contacted for the comment over the allegation, a furious Mutenyu responded by asking for the evidence before giving his side of the story, “show me the letter, I cannot just respond to every allegation,” Mutenyu boasted.
