Even though incarcerated former Kampala Lord Mayor Ssalongo Erias Lukwago handed over his official cars including the Landcruiser which had just been bought a few months before his defeat in the 2026 general election, his successor Ssalongo Ronald Balimwezo has refused to use it.
Balimwezo is using a black Landcruiser which is of an old model compared to that of Lukwago without the white pickup which Lukwago’s security was using to provide security to the head of political wing in the city.
Balimwezo not only stopped from using Lukwago’s cars, he also declined to sit in the official Lord Mayor’s chair and a new one was bought for him. He also overhauled the entire official office by changing everything including removing the adjustments petitions which was made in it
Now the Lord Mayor shares the office with his personal assistant and those who want to see him no longer need to consult him assistants, because by the time they enter the office, he will have seen them already.
“He was scared with what he found in that office, that’s why he brought religious leaders to pray for him and the office. It was because of this scare that it is alleged something strangled him inside the office. He wants his assistants to always be present to help him if anything strange attacks him,” one of Balimwezo assistant narrated to this reporter.
He explained that his boss went through a lot after winning the election including being attacked by a strange disease. He was only saved because of being a prayer warrior.
Balimwezo himself confirmed to this reporter recently that there is a lot of witchcraft at city hall, But he boasted that he will only defeat the demon there by God’s intervention.
Sources said that it is not only Balimwezo who is scared, his deputy Faridah Nakabugo is also afraid that is why before accessing her office, she forst brought her sheikh to pray for her.
Nakabugo replaced Doreen Nyanjura as the deputy Lord Mayor. Nyanjura publicly confirmed that she was not happy with Balimwezo’s choice noting that she wanted Dr Shamim Nambasa to replace her.
Ono Bwino has also been told that even those at KCCA’s technical wing are living in fear of witchcraft.
Recently, Ono Bwino reported how KCCA law enforcement staff were shocked by the death of their colleague, a one Ssenfuma who was found dead in his bed yet he was not suffering from any disease.
“Two weeks before his death, one of the senior enforcement officers directed him to stop commanding enforcement operations around Arua park saying it was his territory. Because he has big people in KCCA especially in the political wing, he reported the matter and the decision of his boss was reversed but he was not happy. I was there when he told him that their fight was now going to be decided by God. He just laughed but I personally warned him,” a senior KCCA enforcement officer said.
He claimed that law enforcement commanders were bewitching each other because they wanted to command juicy streets like Arua park, Kampala Road, Nakasero market, Duster Street, Luwum Street and streets around the taxi and bus parks because they are lucrative.
