Defeated Makindye East legislator Ibrahim Kasozi has turned a deaf ear to the advice of the Muslim titular leader Prince Dr Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu not to contest against his blue-eyed boy Ssalongo Erias Lukwago the incumbent Kampala city Lord Mayor come 2026.

Recently, Kasozi confirmed to this website that Dr Nakibinge advised him to go back to Makindye East and recover his political seat from National Unity Platform’s Derrick Nyeko which he accepted.

However, early this week, Kasozi meet his henchmen and women and directed them to start mobilizing support for him for the position of the Lord Mayor explaining that he took the decision after meeting his Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Najjanankumbi bosses who directed him to contest against Lukwago.

He boasted that the people of Kampala need a leader of his calibre who will not spend much of his time politicking but will deliver services to the common person in the ghettos of Kampala.

However, Lukwago responded by assuring Kasozi that he is ready to face any that stands in his way to contest against him.

He explained that voters of Kampala know why they are keeping him in that office and they are ready to do so in 2026.

Sources at FDC Najjanankumbi camp have assured this website that the leadership of Patrick Amuriat Oboi is ready to invest a lot in the fight to oust Lukwago out of City Hall come 2026 as a way to revenge against him over his action with his political god father Dr Kizza Besigye to divide their party into two camps.
