The newly elected Makindye East Member of Parliament (MP) Ali Kasirye Mulyanyama has said that he is not only going to parliament to change the lives of his voters but also his.

“I’m not going to accept any money which is not legally allocated to MPs as other legislators have been doing including those of the opposition previously. But the money I’m going to receive legally, I will use it to change the lives of my people working in the ghettos of Katwe and other places and also buy a building for myself and houses in the constituency,” Mulyanyama said.

He rubbished the advice being given to him publicly by people he branded as faded politicians  like former presidential candidate Mubarak Munyagwa that he should refuse to take the more than Shs300m from parliament to buy a car insisting that he needs that car to do his parliamentary job and help his voters.

He wondered why Munyagwa and other defeated legislators are advising them as the newly elected Legislators to refuse taking the said money for the car yet when they were there some of them kept on receiving bribes including betraying their opposition leaders which annoyed voters and they voted them out of parliament.

He revealed that Munyagwa as a person has a personal issue with the person of Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) and entire National Unity Platform (NUP) party that is why he is trying all his level best to make sure that all of them get arrested, imprisoned thinking that it will help him resurrect his political career.

“We know who facilitated Munyagwa and Robert Kasibante’s presidential bids. Now he is moving from one media house to another blasting Bobi Wine accusing him of going into hiding. Why is he not asking himself why Museveni went into hiding after he declared war on president Milton Obote’s government?” Mulyanyama asked.

He further rubbished the allegations which Munyagwa has been spreading that him and other NUP elected leaders first made a commitment before President Museveni’s men that they will not fight them that is why they were announced winners. He asserted that what Munyagwa is doing is to divert the opposition from the common goal of fighting Museveni government.

He admitted that him and other elected NUP leaders are in fear of being abducted by security operatives so that they do not take oath noting that it is the reason why they are in hiding and will resurrect their political activism after taking oath.
