After one and half years without appearing in any ring fighting for either fun or competition, ring master Ukasha Matovu’s return has excited boxing fans around the country.
Ukasha who uses Lee as his his ring name last appeared in the ring on 26th December, 2024 in the Champions League finals which was held at Uganda Manufacturing Association (UMA) show Lugogo where he was defeated by his clubmate Batte Nuhu.
Fans were very excited seeing Ukasha in good mood as he opened up his victory in the third-round stoppage time against Entebbe based Katabi’s boxer Isaac Kasasa, who is a senior six student at Entebbe parents.
Ukasha dominated the entire game up to the third round while pouring hard punches at his opponent which forced the referee Sekimpi to stop the game to save Kasasa.
The two boxers were in their first fight in season five of the Uganda Boxing Champions League.
“This win is a signal to all those boxers in Light Middleweight who would like to compete for the belt,” Ukasha boasted.
Other fights on the day included; Harold Mukuye of UPDF who defeated John Semugayire of Katabi in the Middle weight contest, Emily Nakalema of Katwe Combined won Leila of Brawn, Ibrahim Kemisi of Mutajazi stopped Babiiro Shafik.
Others who won include: Kato Kazibwe of Kololo, Kassim Mulungi of East Coast, Aziz Aringo of Kololo
Week five will be played on 4th July, 2026 at Lugogo indoor stadium with Fangone Chief Executive Officer Reagan Magumba of Lukanga taking on Reagan Lubega (Cannero) of the East Coast in the light welterweight contest as the main bout of the day.
