PLU Boss Mawanda Promises To Support Boxers As FOB, UPBC Marriage Yields Fruits…

The marriage between Friends of Boxing (FOB) and Uganda Professional Boxing Commission (UPBC) has started to yield fruits.

The marriage between Friends of Boxing (FOB) and Uganda Professional Boxing Commission (UPBC) has started to yield fruits.

FOB and UPBC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) where FOB promised to work hand in hand with the UPBC in order to improve the face of Professional Boxing in Uganda.

In the meeting recently at Uganda Manufacturing Association (UMA) in Lugogo, Boxing stakeholders who included Coaches, Judges, Match makers and promoters were briefed about the partnership between FOB and UPBC.

FOB promised to change the face of Uganda Professional Boxing and this year, they will avail FOB belts which will be competed for by the different ranked boxers where the winner will walk away with Shs6m and the runner up will go with Shs2.5m.

The meeting was blessed by the attendance of Michael Mawanda, the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) boss in charge of the national mobilization and Major George Kiggundu.

Mawanda also promised to use his position as a Member of Parliament and his closeness to Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) to create a good relation between PLU and UPBC so that they work hand in hand to improve the level of professional boxing.
