The flamboyant Nakaseke South Member of Parliament Paulson Ssemakula Luttamaguzi has declared that he will not contest for any political office as long as president Museveni’s family is still controlling the country’s power.
Luttamaguzi claims that his defeat in the January 2026 parliamentary elections was influenced by powerful members of Museveni’s family because of what he termed as his frequent condemnation of their actions which have turned Ugandans into beggers.
“My people in the constituency have been telling me to reclaim my victory through courts of law, but I will not because I cannot waste my time going to those courts which are controlled by Museveni and his people. I will continue serving my people in other capacities but never think that I will contest for an elective office in this country when Museveni and his family members still in power,” Luttamaguzi said.
He claims that National Resistance Movement’s Nsereko Basajjasuubi who defeated him was fraudulently declared as a winner because a powerful member of Museveni family insisted that Ugandans especially people in Buganda should start thinking about taking power instead of being used as comedians and beggars on the social media.

“The reason why you hear these UPDF generals arresting each other is because of political power, they know what power means but here people are rubbishing Bobi Wine without knowing that those people are the reason why he left his multibillion home and all that empire of his to go and hide abroad as he deepens the struggle against Museveni and his family,” Luttamaguzi said
He insists that it is because of political power that people accumulate a lot of wealth, grab other people’s land and give government jobs only to people from their home regions leaving others as beggars.
But instead of fighting for their rights, they decide to use social media to fight those who are helping them to liberate themselves.
Luttamaguzi alleges that his political opponents deployed and paid social media influencers and bloggers to paint a picture that he is in bed with NRM government and it is the reason why he nearly knelt when he was talking to Anita Among the speaker of parliament recently at the steps of the parliamentary building.
“At parliament, speaker Among is one of my bosses and she is a good person, so when she saw me at the steps of parliament, she asked me to explain why I declined to go with my friends to Roma to meet our Pope on the trip facilitated by parliament,” he defended himself.
However, sources close to Luttamaguzi insist that his decision not to challenge Nsereko who is husband to NRM deputy secretary general Rose Nsereko is because of Gen Salim Saleh’s intervention who promised to make sure that Luttamaguzi is compensated after providing evidence that his victory was stolen.
Sources claim that Gen Saleh, a young brother to President Museveni also funded Luttamaguzi’s vacation holiday abroad after the election to calm him down because his statements against Museveni family and NRM leadership were inciting.
Luttamaguzi strongly denied the allegation insisting that he has never met Gen Saleh since after the elections .
