Ono Bwino can exclusively report that Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) the National Unity Platform (NUP) will release his shadow cabinet and opposition leadership in parliament by next week after president Museveni announces his.

Highly placed State House sources said that Museveni is expected to release his cabinet before his 2026 State of the Nation Address on June 4th. After, Bobi Wine will also release his in the next week so as parliament kicks off business.

Betty Nambooze one of the legislators lobbying for the office of the Leader of Opposition in Parliament to replace Joel Ssenyonyi said that all NUP legislators are capable of taking the said office given that the only qualification was to secure a NUP ticket.

However, sources said that Bobi Wine has been consulting different stakeholders with a list of four names on who should be chosen to lead opposition legislators in parliament.

Sources said that Bobi Wine confidants in diaspora are supporting Ssenyonyi to retain his office based on his performance especially after exposing former Speaker Annet Anita Among and her henchmen.

Sources said that it was Ssenyonyi who raised the alarm on Mpuuga for conniving with other former parliamentary commissioners to fraudulently share a Shs1.7bn controversial service award.

Sources added that NUP grassroot political mobilizers (foot soldiers) are also supporting Ssenyonyi to retain his office because of the fight he has always put up to see that their imprisoned colleagues are rescued.

Sources said that John Baptist Nambeshe the incumbent opposition chief whip is lobbying to replace Ssenyonyi based on his seniority and performance in the 2026 general elections.

Nambooze is also lobbying for the same office basing on her status as a woman. Her people assured Bobi Wine that her appointment will attract overwhelming support since women are bitter with Museveni for sidelining them when he endorsed two men as speaker of parliament and deputy.

Her lobbyists also allege that her seniority of being in parliament for fifteen years is enough to convince Bobi Wine to deploy her in the said office.

However, sources said that chances are high that Bobi Wine will retain Ssenyonyi and after he will deploy Nambeshe as Commissioner of Parliament.

Sources said that Nambooze will be deployed as opposition Chief Whip and Nsamba as chairperson Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE).

According to sources, former Speaker of parliament Annet Anita Among’s henchman Abubaker Kawalya, the Lubaga North legislator will be dropped as Kampala Affairs minister and he will be replaced by Makindye West’s Zaharah Luyirika.

Kyandondo East’s Muwada Nkunyingi will be dropped as shadow foreign affairs minister and he will be replaced by controversial Mityana Municipality legislator Francis Butebi Zaake.

Wakiso district woman MP Betty Esther Naluyima will be deployed as chairperson of Public Accounts Committee, African Parliament or Commonwealth parliament
