A meeting summoned by city tycoon Godfrey Kirumira in his capacity as the Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) patron turned violent after a resolution passed that Dr Musoke Nagenda surrenders the association leadership to the acting association chairperson Hajji Issa Sekitto.

This website has established that members who attended the meeting first got scared when they saw Musoke entering the meeting venue at Kirumira’s Muyenga International Hotel with anti terrorism commandos armed with guns.

Some told him off and accussed him of bringing guns in their meeting to threaten them.

Musoke defended himself that his security is under threat and accused Ssekito and fellow KACITA comrades of wanting to harm him because he refused to surrender the association office to them.

While he was saying all this, his guards observed what was going on from a distance.

Sources disclosed that in the meeting that almost took one hour, there was a bitter verbal exchange between Musoke and other leaders.

The exchange almost turned physical to the extent that Musoke was intercepted as he tried to slap and punch Kirumira three times while declaring him a betrayer and a user who uses friends to achieve his personal benefits

Sources said that a bitter Kirumira directed Musoke to move out of his hotel and even ordered his armed security to force him out together with his armed men

Musoke angrily walked out of the meeting, jumped into his car together with his security and drove after Kirumira ordered him to surrender the KACITA office keys and other documents.

Kirumira also told Musoke never again to step at his Royal Complex building which houses KACITA offices.

However, before he left, Musoke reminded Kirumira that he has been using his personal money to pay him rent for KACITA offices therefore he doesn’t have powers to evict him from the offices he is paying for.

He assured him that he is going to report the matter to President Museveni.

Musoke alleged that Kirumira and other KACITA leaders are fighting him because he supports NRM.

However, Sekitto told this website that they are ready to defend themselves before the President.

“The issue is not who is supporting NRM or not but who violates the association laws. Our friend Dr Musoke who read more books than us has been telling us that it is only Kirumira who can solve our problems. But when we presented our issues to Kirumira, he understood us and asked Musoke to step a side which he declines to do,” Sekitto said.

Sekitto added that their constitution does not allow leaders to participate in partisan politics because such politics divides traders and the business community and Musoke has already vied for the position of Lord Mayor on NRM ticket in the primaries and was badly defeated.

He boasted that if Musoke wants to fight, he should also know that he (Sekitto) also knows how to fight because he was among the ‘Kadogos’ (young soldiers) who fought alongside President Museveni during the 1981 liberation war against previous governments.

However, Musoke assured this website that he is not going to surrender. He also threatened to take legal action against Sekitto and other leaders who impeached him, insisting that they violated his freedom to associate in his country’s politics.
