This website can exclusively report that defeated Mawokota south legislator Yusuf Nsibambi has been gifted with a brand-new Toyota Hiace double cabin and bags of money as a token of thanks for taking a strong decision of joining the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.
According to highly placed sources at NRM headquarters on plot 10 Kyadondo road, the gift was officially handed over to him on the sidelines after he officially announced his crossing over from the opposition.
“I cannot tell the amount of money he received but what I can confirm is that he received the money from the Secretary General’s office. We were around when he was getting the bag and he gave us something also,” a source said.
Hajji Faruq Ntege a relative and a close friend to Nsibambi said that is not going to be shocked if Nsibambi, a former Secretary to late Sulaiman Kiggundu’s Greenland bank is appointed as a vice president in president Museveni’s coming cabinet.

However, insiders told this reporter that Nsibambi is currently facing a lot of resistance from strong supporters of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) a political pressure group who accuse him of being aggressive to their principal before crossing to NRM.
“When he was campaigning in Mawokota in the just concluded elections, he used to incite people against Gen Muhoozi supporters telling the public that those who support Gen Muhoozi have to be castrated and only praising Bobi Wine,” a strong PLU supporter said.
Sources said that Gen Muhoozi who is also the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations will be instrumental in deciding who will be in the next cabinet.
This website has established that since he joined NRM, Nsibambi’s security has been boosted and with three counter terrorism commandos with others stationed at his Naguru hill home and in the village.
Even though since his appointment as the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Chief Whip Nsibambi was assigned with a counter terrorism commando, these have now been increased.
However, Nsibambi denied allegations of receiving money from the NRM thanking him for joining them. He bragged that he is a very rich man so money cannot make him change is political goalposts.
