Former Attorney General William Byaruhanga was among the Ugandans and Kenyans who shined in the third edition of the Professor Emmanuel Mutebile Squash tournament which started on 13th April up to Saturday 18th April, 2026 at Kampala Club.
The winners walked away with cash prizes, medals and trophies in different categories as the country remembered the good works and support given to the Squash family by the late Mutebile, the former Bank of Uganda governor.
Uganda’s seed number one, Paul Kasirye Kadoma and Kenyan female seed number one, Jane Njeri did it again to defend their trophies which they won last year in the second edition.
Kadoma defeated Ivan Wasswa in three games in the best of five games with 11-9, 11-7, 11-7 to win his second title in a row while Jane defeated Elizabeth Musiimenta in three games in the best of five with 11-8, 11-5, 11-3 scores.

In the oldies categories (50 years and above), William Byaruhanga won the category and walked away with the trophy.
In the Juniors category, Aron Isabirye came first while Semakula Osama came second. Both players were given trophies and medals.
Kadoma, went away with a cash prize of Shs1.5m and Wasswa who was the runners up went away with Shs1m in the male category.
In the female category, Jane went away with Shs1.5m while Elizabeth who was the runners up went away with Shs600,000.
Doctor Musa Waiswa the Executive Director in Bank of Uganda who represented the Governor of Bank of Uganda Micheal Atingi-Ego assured the Squash family that Bank of Uganda will continue to support this annual tournament.
Former Uganda seed number one, Michael Raymond Kawooya who was the event organizer thanked Bank of Uganda for their support towards this tournament.
Kawooya lost in the quarter finals and went away with a cash prize of Shs200,000m and a trophy.
