Sylvester Nsubuga Wamala the heir to fallen Kampala Archbishop Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga and administrator of his estate has fired his sister Rose Namutebi from being one of the directors of St. Cyprian High School Kyabakadde.

Bishop Lwanga was the proprietor of Cyprian High School and since his death in 2021, Namayanja has been running the school on behalf of other family members who included Nsubuga who has been spending much of his time in United States.

Nsubuga didn’t even attend the last funeral rites of his brother who was also a heir to his father Yozefu Wamala Nsubuga but he returned back in the country after frequent complaints he has been receiving from other family members who have been accusing him of sleeping while Namutebi and other girls mismanage the family estate.

Highly placed sources close to Bishop Nsubuga’s family told this reporter that the fighting started immediately after Lwanga’s death and it is the reason why his last funeral rights were postponed by the current Archbishop Dr Paul Ssemogerere to give the family an opportunity to settle their fights amicably.

Sources said that Nsubuga was placed under pressure by family members who claimed that girls in the family were selling all the family properties while him as the heir was looking on.

As a result, he summoned a zoom meeting to give Namutebi and other girls the opportunity to defend themselves but they decline to attend even though they were informed formerly and via a family WhatsApp group.

Nsubuga got furious and warned Namutebi that her actions were causing divisions in the family.

One of the eldest sons in the family a one Justus Mayanja on several occasions complained of being discriminated against after allegations that he is not a family member.

After the zoom meeting, Nsubuga felt Namutebi and other girls disrespected him by not attending the meeting he summoned.

He decided to reach out to family advisers led by George Mutekanga the former commissioner in the Ministry of Education and Sports who was a close friend to Bishop Lwanga.

Nsubuga used the meeting summoned by Mutekanga at the family home at Kyabakadde to give Namutebi a letter dismissing her from heading the family school in Kyabakadde.

He also instructed her not to intervene anymore in the management of other family properties including farms and rentals.

Nsubuga told the meeting that he is the one who appointed Namutebi to be the director of the school after the death of Bishop Lwanga together with other family members who include Agnes Nsubuga who is in charge of finance and Oliver Nankya and Joseph Wamala were appointed together with other board members to supervise the running of the school.

In 2021, Bishop Lwanga was found dead in his bed at Lubaga, his personal doctor confirmed that his death was caused by heart related problems.
