Ono Bwino can exclusively report that as President Museveni is preparing to pronounce himself on whether to leave the troubled nominated ministers to take their offices as he pursues the process of them denouncing their dual citizenship, it is reported that among the embattled nominees is David Calvin Echodu is a highly trained United States of America soldier.
Last month, Museveni nominated Echodu as a state minister in charge of foreign affairs to replace Henry Okello Oryem but his swearing-in was pushed further as the President studies the guiding report made by the head of public service and secretary to cabinet Lucy Nakyobe, State House legal officer Florence Kiconco and the Solicitor General Pius Perry Biribonwoha concerning the nominee’s fate.
Other nominated ministers are Adonia Ayebare who was assigned as a senior foreign affairs minister, Sharsti Kutesa Musherure for microfinance and Dr Lawrence Muganga the designated state minister in charge of internal affairs.
Frank Gashumba the chairperson of Abavandimwe community in Uganda accused deputy speaker Thomas Tayebwa of creating the trouble for the said designated ministers because he wanted to revenge on Banyarwanda community in Uganda by stopping Muganga from being approved as minister.
However, Makindye East legislator Ali Kasirye Mulyanyama rubbished Gashumba’s claim that Tayebwa influenced Muganga’s dis-approval insisting that Museveni has a big intelligence report on Muganga especially his days and dealings with Rwanda government when he was still in Canada.
Mulyanyama advised Muganga not to waste his time by blackmailing Museveni with the help of Gashumba because he is a Munyarwanda in Uganda but he should seek an appointment with him and apologise to him for what he did when he was still in Canada.
The development comes after this website landed on intelligence briefing alleging that Echodu is a very influential figure in the America given that he is a highly trained American soldier.
Highly placed sources revealed to Ono Bwino that President Museveni and his young brother Gen Salim Saleh were impressed with Echodu’s connections internationally and his loyalty to the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Sources divulged that Echodu is a very rich man and since 2016, he has been funding NRM flag bearers around Teso Sub Region even though his intentions to contest for political office were minimal until flamboyant flight captain Mike Mukula competed with him in the fight over Soroti Gulf Club land.
Sources added that Echodu is one of the highly protected Ugandans after he was allocated highly trained Special Forces Command (SFC) Commandos to provide security to him and his immediate family members.
Because of his connections, after joining the American army, Echodu married from one of the influential families in United States.
He married Dorothy Echodu a US citizen who is a granddaughter of Philanthropist and businessman Douglas Dillon a former US Treasury Secretary and a former chairperson of the Rockefeller Foundation.
Dorothy is also a celebrated international business woman who runs a number of multibillion businesses in United States, France, United Kingdom and other countries.
