Opposition strongman Dr Kizza Besigye is still following his documents which were confiscated by the leadership at Luzira Maximum Security prison.
According to our highly placed prison sources, the documents were confiscated from one of the visitors who went to prison to visit Dr Besigye and the officers who were present when the inmate (Besigye) was interacting with his visitors are under investigations
“The document contains well researched information on the country’s economy, politics and security and it is in Doctor’s handwriting. He explained that he was sending it to his people to guide them when voting their new leaders in the coming elections,” a source said
He added that the development comes at a time when there are changes that have just been made in the command of the Upper prison’s leadership where Afande Siima who was responsible for Besigye’s security was sent on training.

When contacted, prisons spokesperson Frank Baine Mayanja explained that all documents, before moving out of the prison, have to be first authorised by the prison’s leadership and Besigye didn’t follow the proper procedures.
Besigye was kidnapped in Nairobi Kenya with his political assistant Al-Hajji Obed Lutale Kamulegeya in November 2024 and charged with offences related to treason in the military court before transferred to the civilian courts
They are still battling with Justice Emmanuel Baguma of the Criminal Division of the High Court who declined to recuse himself from their matter insisting that there is no ground for him to recuse himself even though the accused persons fault him of being biased and incompetent.
