Ono Bwino can exclusively report that president Museveni’s young brother has intervened in the Nakaseke district political fights which resulted from the recently concluded 2026 parliamentary elections.
Highly placed sources close to the coordinator of the Operation Wealthy Creation (OWC) revealed that Gen. Saleh decided to intervene after the frequent social media and mainstream media attacks accusing him of fueling electoral malpractices which resulted into the defeat of the National Unity Platform (NUP) candidates.
Sources said that Gen Saleh started with summoning defeated Nakaseke South legislator Paul Ssemakula Luttamaguzi who gave him evidence proving that he was cheated by National Resistance Movement’s Charles Nsereko Basajjassubi the husband to Rose Namayanja Nsereko the deputy secretary general of the NRM.
Highly placed sources close to Gen Saleh told this reporter that after listening to a desperate Luttamaguzi, he told him that he cannot just take his side without listen to Nsereko and therefore asked him to come back the next day so that he compares their evidence.
But the General was bitter with Luttamaguzi for resorting to social and stream media attacks on his personality and that of President Museveni instead of seeking his audience to solve his issues as he has been doing previously.
The source disclosed that Gen Saleh told Luttamaguzi that it was wrong to incite the already charged public against him.
After studying evidence from both sides, Gen confirmed that there was electoral fraud made and advised both parties to sort themselves out amicably if possible, warning that he is ready to support Luttamaguzi to get justice if reciliation fails.
“The General was very furious with Nsereko and he told him that what he did with his people was very dangerous and the President was not happy with all the NRM people played dirty to win,” the source said.
The Gen who was furious according to sources and with immediately effect directed Luttamaguzi to stop his media insults and incitement and concentrate on discussing how to solve his issues with Nsereko because him and his family did not have any hand in his troubles.
“The only option Nsereko has is to convince Luttamaguzi to accept compensation once he sums up all the money he spent in the campaigns and what he expected from parliament. If Nsereko can manage to compensate him, then the puzzle will be solved,” the source added.
Nsereko who was gazetted as the newly elected Nakaseke South member of parliament with 30,279 votes and Luttamaguzi in second position garnered 18,123 votes.
Still in Nakaseke district, Ono Bwino has established that Gen Saleh is also intervening in minister Kabuye and NUP’s Allan Mayanja’s political controversies in Nakaseke Central.
Maverick Kabuye was declared a winner with 13,698 after physically insulting softspoken Mayanja when he was trying to contest the results which were being read by the District Returning Officer. During their fight, Mayanja was forced out of the tallying centre and it was announced that he scored 8,178 votes.
Minister Kabuye disclosed that what he knows is that the outgoing Kampala City Lord Mayor Ssalongo Erias Lukwago is in talks with Mayanja to lead his legal team in challenging his victory.
“You know after losing Kampala, Lukwago is now looking for those desperate NUP losers and offering them help by filing cases in courts challenging our victories so that he compromises them into joining his political party,” Kabuye said.
He pleaded with Nakaseke voters to forget the 2026 general elections and get back to their work by supporting the elected leaders and working with them. He added that he is ready to start giving out coffee seedlings to farmers in the area especially youths.
In a related development, Gen Saleh is also studying the evidence for the position of Nakaseke district Woman Member of Parliament after NUP’s Esther Nakawooya challenged the victory of the incumbent Sarah Najjuma who allegedly retained her position with 55,455 votes.
A dissatisfied Nakawooya garnered 26,875 votes but sources revealed that through Luttamaguzi, she has also petitioned the General for assistance.
Sources said that Gen Saleh’s intervention in the different political fights is aimed at curtailing any political unrest in the area because he does not want to scare investors in his Kapeeka industrial park.
