Upon failing to overthrow Patrick Amuriat Oboi and Nathan Nandala Mafabi from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) top leadership which resulted into the establishment of the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF), Kira Municipality legislator Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda and his Buhweju counterpart Francis Mwijukye are fighting with all their efforts to prove that FDC is nothing without them.
This website has established that both Ssemujju and Mwijukye are the leading financial supposers of the PFF political mobilization both at the party headquarters and outside and their zeal on releasing millions of shillings has shocked many because they are well known for being hard on their money.
“Ssemujju wants to prove a point. Do you remember the Sharing Hall meeting where him and other fellows who were fighting Amuriat and Mafabi declared their next move of consultation, he single handedly sponsored that activity and he spent more than one hundred million shillings and I cannot calculate how much has spent since the process of establishing PFF started,” a PFF source said.
Before his arrest on treason related charges, Dr Kizza Besigye the four times presidential candidate was the chief financer of PFF at its birth stage but his detention left a big vacuum which Ssemujju and Mwijukye are trying to cover up.
Sources disclosed that PFF suffered a huge setback because of Besigye’s arrest given that a number of foreign funders got scared left and a number of local allies started distances themselves from Besigye fearing arrest and prosecution.
Ono Bwino has established that Kampala Lord Mayor Ssalongo Erias Lukwago was expected to fund the political activities especially because of his position of being the party’s acting president but his financial contribution is little like that of veteran jobless leaders like ambassador Wasswa Birigwa and Mzee Garuga Musinguzi.
