Former Aruu County Member of Parliament Samuel Odong Otto has advised opposition strongman also the National Unity Platform (NUP) former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) to accept the political deal to dialogue with president Museveni otherwise there is no other alternative of him taking State power.
Otto claimed that being that Museveni single handedly controls the army, cultural institutions, gives religious leaders and cultural leaders money and cars, controls diplomacy and has money to dish out to his immediate opponents, Bobi Wine has no chance of snatching power from him.
“Bobi Wine should get serious, as a political philosopher, the only advice I can give him is to wash his hands properly, get disciplined because he has to be clean so that he can sit with the elders on the dining table to eat with them. He has to be disciplined enough not to jump from the table as I’m seeing him doing because Museveni has nothing he lose by not negotiating with him,” Otto said.
He added that Bobi Wine has to be clever in his political calculations noting that currently Museveni is 82 years old yet he is still 40 years old meaning that Museveni has less years on earth than him. This means he can use that opportunity to come closer to power instead of thinking that foreigners in developed countries will help him yet they are also praying for Museveni to remain in power so that he helps them in protecting their interest in the great lakes’ region.
He assured Bobi Wine that Museveni is ready to appoint him his vice president and warned him that refusing the deal will only mean that his people including his national deputy president in charge of Buganda Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi will rot in prison like Dr Kizza Besigye.
He noted that President Museveni was briefed about the incident at Kivumbi’s home where more than seven people were killed and other survived with injuries on voting day.
However, Joseph Kabuleta a former presidential candidate insisted that Museveni has never had a political challenger like Bobi Wine and because of the pressure he is receiving from developed countries, it is the reason he is seeking for dialogue with him.
He advised Bobi Wine to be careful in taking any decision concerning negotiating with Museveni.
He disclosed that when Bobi Wine is not well contained, he can cause trouble to Museveni because United States of America President Donald Trump has a lot of interest in the East and Central regions of Africa especially Democratic Republic of Congo, and because of those interests, it is the reason why Rwandan army and top military commanders were sanctioned by American State.
He insisted that Museveni and his men are scared because youths are praising Bobi Wine and taking him as their cult leader that’s why Museveni is imprisoning and compromising NUP’s grassroot mobilizers commonly known as foot soldiers.
He was supported by Samuel Muyizzi one of NUP lawyers who boasted that Bobi Wine is doing a wonderful job in United States and has met serious political and economic influencers who have put pressure on Museveni government to defend the overwhelming evidence of violating human rights placed on his government.
Adonia Ayebale, Uganda’s representative at the United Nations and also Museveni’s special envoy rubbished the claims that Bobi Wine is doing a wonderful job in United States.
He challenged him to bring any photo of his meetings with serious political influencers like Senators.
He advised Bobi Wine to accept the deal of dialoguing with Museveni and work together to fight poverty especially among youths noting that it is the only big problem affecting Ugandans.
He further tasked Bobi Wine to accept the advice of the religious leaders and dialogue instead of rubbishing them as he did when he was speaking to Ugandans in United States.
Bobi Wine claims that when Archbishop Stephen Kazimba Mugalu and other religious leaders visited his Magere home after the army raided it, they told her to advise her husband to accept the dialogue and never think about creating trouble in the country and accept defeat.
Kabuleta said that he was not shocked by the allegation because he knows very well that religious leaders are working for Museveni and surviving on his government without thinking about Ugandans who are suffering.
