Charles Tebandeke the Bbale county Member of Parliament confirmed to his supporters at Kayonza Sub County that even though he is a staunch catholic believer who doesn’t believe in marrying more than one wife, he is ready to marry Ida Erios Nantaba the Kayunga district woman Member of Parliament.

He explained that he has decided to ponder taking this painful decision after establishing that as a young man, marrying Nantaba is the only remaining option that is going to help resolve the ongoing political fights between her and other young leaders in the district.

“All our elders present here, I’m a very obedient son of yours, I pray that you summon both of us under the big tree and ask her what problem she has with me and other district leaders. I will accept anything she will ask for including marrying her at her age because it could be one of the problems that is disturbing her,” Tebandeke said

He claimed that Nantaba is moving around the constituency telling voters how he connived with mafias to grab Bajo forestry reserve land and that he is using the money from the deal to fund his campaigns, an allegation he denies.

He accused National Resistance Movement (NRM) Mukono district chairperson Hajji Haruna Ssemakula of having a hand in grabbing forestry land.

Tebandeke insisted that the investigations were done and those who benefited from the fraud were profiled in the media and a copy of the investigation was sent to president Museveni.

However, it should be noted that Tebandeke lost his shadow ministerial job as a minister in charge of fisheries after his party leadership led by Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) established that he had a hand in the grabbing of forestry land after Nantaba protested on the floor of parliament.

The development comes at a time when police is still investigating the violence that was witnessed in the ongoing political campaigns in Kayunga district especially in Nkokonjeru, Kitatya and Tweyagalire all in Kitimbwa sub county

The fights according to investigations was between Nantaba’s supporters and those of her main opponent Jacqualine Birungi who is a daughter to businessman and also Kayunga district NRM chairperson Moses Kariisa Karangwa.

According to security sources, Kayunga is on the list of areas that are always marred with election violence that is why their campaigns are highly monitored.
