As president Museveni prepares to announce a fresh mobilization team both at the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretariat and other party offices which he will use to mobilize political support to win the 2031 presidential elections, the fight over those juicy jobs has intensified.
Ono Bwino can exclusively report that Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) a political pressure group which is under the leadership of the First Son and also the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba is actively lobbying for its members to take over some of the said offices to increase their chances of taking over the country’s leadership when the right time arises.
In the 2026 general election, Gen Muhoozi directed PLU members who wished to contest for various electoral positions to contest on the NRM ticket. He also guided all members to campaign and vote for Museveni and NRM candidates.
After the election, he boasted that his political pressure group played a central role in Museveni’s 71% victory.

Veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda said that PLU members are going to eat big in Museveni’s next government and highly placed sources in the corridors of power confirmed to this reporter that the first target is the Office of the NRM National Chairperson (ONC) at Kyambogo.
Ono Bwino has learnt that PLU is very serious on taking over ONC offices and they are fronting Hajjat Amina Nanziri Mukalazi who recently successfully organized the Yogayoga Jjajja celebrations as local NRM mobilizers were congratulating Museveni for his 2026 overwhelming win.
Sources close to Nanziri told this reporter that she and PLU top leaders single handedly funded the celebration by facilitating the PLU coordinators and local mobilizers around the country to help in transporting people to Kololo independence ground.
“At first she wanted the entire celebrations to be funded by local mobilizers of the NRM and PLU but she got stuck financially on the way, that’s why the celebrations were postponed as she sought help from PLU top leaders,” a source said.
Sources said that PLU structures like Hassan Kazibwe’s Uganda Tax Transport Executive Governance Authority the national umbrella which brings together all taxi drivers in the country which is under the patronship of Gen Muhoozi provided vehicles which transported people to Kololo.
This website has learnt that drivers were paid Shs100,000 and their cars fueled to full capacity, coordinators who mobilized people were also given Shs100,000 and journalists were facilitated with Shs50,000 each to cover the celebrations.
Presidential advisor on city markets Faridah Nakimuli who is also a close friend to Nanziri played a great role in mobilizing market vendors around the country to celebrate with the president.
Members of the RRU, which is a private security company also played a great role in helping Nanziri to mobilize for the celebrations and sources said that the target of the entire organization was to prove a point to president Museveni who is the appointing authority that she has the capacity to head his mobilization team come 2031.
Sources said that apart from the support from the PLU leaders, Nanziri also has a lot of support from the NRM Secretariate because of the misunderstandings that the top leadership has with Namyalo who publicly accused them of participating in sexual harassment of young girls and married women who seek to be employed and actively benefit from the NRM leadership through the Secretariate.
Namyalo also accused the Secretariate leadership of mismanaging the party’s funds for mobilization to the extent that she publicly faced off with the party’s head of mobilization Dr Rosemary Sseninde.
Ono Bwino has learnt that Nanziri is using her Naguru mobilization offices to lobby for her next juicy job of deploying 2026 defeated NRM political aspirants and candidates to cement the political ground for her as she sets sight on heading the party’s mobilization wing.
However, sources said that Ibrahim Kitatta the outgoing Lwengo district chairperson is also lobbying for the same job even though his chances are minimal because of his previous bad record which resulted into him being forced out of the said offices at Kyambogo.
Sources divulged that Museveni is likely to deploy Namyalo as his advisor playing the same role government officials like Full Figure, Buchaman and others are executing for the president.
