Isaac Kayonde, a National Resistance Movement (NRM) loyalist is very scared that the threatening tweets on X allegedly posted by the Chief of Défense Forces (CDF) maverick Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba will affect the performance of his father President Museveni and his political party in the coming 2026 general elections.

Kayonde who calls himself Gomba’s finest furiously said that president Museveni has been a down to earth leader mobilizing support including at his age going down in the villages to meet people with one or ten pigs, goats, hens with the agenda of creating a strong connection with them so that they can support him and his party when election time comes but he is shocked to see Muhoozi is not bothered about it.

“We have been sweet talking people especially here in Buganda that NRM is going to perform well compared to the last general elections and the results have been promising but now see, Gen Muhoozi, from out of the blue is posting divesting posts which spoil everything and taking us back to square one,” Kayonde said when he appeared on KFM talk show.

He insists that president Museveni is not behind Gen Muhoozi’s tweets including plans to kidnap and allegedly torture Edward Ssebuufu (Eddie Mutwe) the chief bodyguard to National Unity Platform (NUP) principal Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine).

He noted that it should be Gen Muhoozi to answer for his actions not Museveni or the entire government.

Kayonde warned Gen Muhoozi to be very careful with his threatening tweets and actions stating that they can be used as evidence against him before Courts of law if he is dragged there to explain himself because as the saying goes, ‘the internet does not forget’.

He wondered why Gen Muhoozi is threatening other countrymen when his father invested in him including taking him in good schools locally and abroad and gave  him the opportunity to get in touch with serious good leaders like former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and Paul Kagame of Rwanda.

Gen Muhoozi has been tweeting controversial statements which have attracted condemnation from political, religious and cultural leaders with many accusing him of inciting violence through toying the tribalism line.

Former army commander Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu pleaded with president Museveni as the Commander in Chief to take action against Muhoozi noting that whatever he is may come back to him as the president of the country.

However, in his recent public statement, Museveni praised Muhoozi for making UPDF a lethal army which managed to bring back peace in South Sudan and Democratic Republic of Congo.
