The Court has allowed the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to prosecute fugitive land broker Muhammadi Kamoga in absentia over multiple criminal charges of alleged forgery.
Entebbe Magistrates Court ruled that broker Kamoga failed to honour the bail bond by refusing to appear in court both prior to and after the issuance of the two warrants for his arrest.
Grade One Magistrate Edgar Tusiime Tibeyita ruled that since his disappearance, Kamoga’s sureties, who include the former Mayor of Katabi, Kalema Bassamula KKere and Walugembe Tonny, the LC1 chairman of Bulega- Mbiru paid their court bonds after failing to trace him and ensuring his attendance before court, thereby waiving his right to be present for trial.
“The interests of justice require that the hearing of the case continues in his absence,” Tibeyita held.

On October 6, 2025, the Magistrates Court issued arrest warrants directing the Police to arrest Kamoga and produce him after he failed to appear in several sessions.
Kamoga is expected to answer to several criminal charges regarding the forgery of lawyer Lorna Nkamwesiga’s signature and stamp.
It is alleged that in 2021 at Wakiso District Lands Office, Kamoga with intent to deceive, forged a practicing certificate for Advocates dated 25 February 2020 purporting it to have been issued to Advocate Nkamwesiga Lorna whereas not.
The state contends that Kamoga had purported that the said practicing certificate was also signed and stamped by Advocate Nkamwesiga Lorna whereas not.
Prosecution alleges that on May 7, 2021 at Wakiso Lands office, Kamoga with intent to deceive, forged a transfer form dated May 7, 2021 in respect to land in Busiro on Block 425 purporting to have been signed by Advocate Nkamwesiga Lorna as a witness whereas not.
It is alleged that Kamoga forged transfer forms for over 200 acres of land, purporting them to have been signed and stamped by Advocate Nkamwesiga Lorna as a witness whereas not.
Kamoga is facing multiple charges of forgery, obtaining registration by false pretense, uttering false documents, unlawful eviction, and malicious damage to property regarding fraudulent acquisition of a 200-acre land at Garuga-Bukaaya in Entebbe, Wakiso District.
On July 15, 2025, the Supreme Court dismissed an application in which the land broker had sought to stop the prosecution, citing a pending appeal.
He is accused of forging the signatures of businessman Peter Bibangamba on transfer forms for land at Bukaya, Entebbe; fraudulently acquiring registration; uttering false documents; unlawful eviction and malicious damage to property.
Kamoga’s legal troubles stem from allegations that he used forged transfer forms to unlawfully transfer land ownership from Peter Bibangamba into his names for over 200 acres of land.
