President Donald Trump’s suspected special envoy early this week visited incarcerated Christopher Okello Onyum at Luzira Murchison bay prison.
Okello shocked the world when he raided Ggaba Early Childhood Development Centre in Kampala and murdered four toddlers on spot.
Justice Komuhangi Khaukha convicted Okello on four counts of murder and sentenced him to death.
He challenged both the conviction and sentence, and Ono Bwino can exclusively report that United States of America government has also picked interest in his matter and early this month, a suspected senior envoy engaged him.

Okello is a United States of America citizen, and sources said that the American government is helping its citizen who was also diagnosed with sickle cells disease.
Apart from the American government, Okello is also receiving constant updates from his lawyers who advised him to challenge both his conviction and sentence which he claims were harsh on him.
Highly placed sources revealed to Ono Bwino that Okello used the engagement with this American envoy to report the isolation and harsh environment he was subjected to at Murchison Bay prison.
Okello was transferred from Luzira Upper maximum-security prison to Murchison Bay where he is receiving treatment for sickle cells and getting counselling from experts because it is alleged he is going through depression.
Sources said that Okello narrated to the envoy how he survived being lynched by angry women prison warders when he was exercising outside the prison’s hospital.
“The truth should be said, Okello was not welcomed here especially by women workers who saw him as a murderer. Remember even some of their colleagues in security circles lost their kids in that incident, so you can understand why they reacted in that way against him,” a source said.
Okello now prefers to be discharged and be treated as an outside patient after being transferred back to Upper prison where he has friends who are also facing capital offences like murder and others who are on death sentence unlike at Murchison Bay.
Sources said that since that incident, when Okello was attacked by these angry women, he no longer moves out of the hospital to exercise and he always puts on his face mask every time he is to move around the hospital ward.
Sources said that he is going to raise all his issues with the American government to guide their embassy at Kampala on how he can be helped in handling his issues as their own citizen.
