Ono Bwino can exclusively report that Crispin Kaheru the embattled Uganda Human Rights Commissioner is desperately lobbying to join President Yoweri Museveni’s cabinet as minister of foreign affairs.

he full cabinet minister and state minister in charge of international affairs remained vacant after president Museveni discovered that Adonia Ayebare and David Calvin Echodu are not qualified for the job.

It was discovered after their appointment that both Ochodu and Ayebare, a former Uganda permanent representative to the United Nations had more than one citizenship which is against the laws of Uganda for one to be appointed a minister.

After discovering that his chances of remaining at the Commission when his immediate boss Mariam Wangadya resigns as the chairperson of the commission are minimal, he started lobbying for another job and his target is joining cabinet.

Kaheru is a blue-eyed boy to Gen Salim Saleh, a young brother to president Museveni and has deep connections in the Deep State.

Sources said that Kaheru has also used his previous connections as the former national coordinator of the Citizens’ Coalition for Electoral Democracy in Uganda (CCEDU) which is currently suspended by the government on the allegation of sabotaging the country’s development and governance.

Sources said that one of the issues that created trouble for Kaheru at the Commission which resulted into the ongoing fights among the Commissioners was because of his frequent travels abroad.

Sources said that this is because he spent many of his formative years in the United Kingdom where he studied from and recently boasted before fellow Commissioners how he is deeply connected to almost all diplomats in embassies in Uganda which give him paid trips most of which come pegged on his individual attendance.

Sources said that very soon, Kaheru may be jobless after President Museveni kicked-off the process of cleaning the government agency which is responsible for protecting human rights in the country.
