The Kenyan Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has assured the people of Kenya that their government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will make sure that the two Kenyan activitsts kidnapped in Uganda are accounted for and released.
“I want to assure you the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is handling those issues and everybody will be accounted for. It is the duty of the Government of Kenya to protect its citizens in any part of the world,” Murkomen said.
The development comes after the Law Society in Kenya and Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino publicly called on the Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi to intervene by personally reaching out to President Museveni to influence the release of Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo both members of the Free Kenyan Movement.
Both Njagi and Oyoo travelled to Uganda at the end of September to participate in political campaign for National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) and were kidnapped along Jinja road highway in Kireka by armed men.
Both Uganda People’s Défense Forces (UPDF) and Uganda Police Force spokespersons denied knowing the whereabouts of the two activists even though fellow activists in Uganda are claiming that they are being detained in one of the military detention centres on one of the seven hills that surround Kampala City.
The development comes at a time when Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister Norbert Mao has just recently assured the country that the 2026 general elections will be one of the quietest elections in the world and anyone who will try to make noise will be silenced.
He was supported by city lawyer and also the Democratic Party National Vice president Fred Mukasa Mbidde who said that one of the top Generals in the country told him that the reason why Museveni has heavily invested in silencing youths in the ghettos of Kampala and other major cities by pouring in their associations billions of shillings is because he is scared of anyone misleading them into causing havoc.
“I was talking to one of the top Generals, I asked him why President Museveni is bothered with the people of Kampala because it is clear that they don’t want him and will not vote for him. He told me that if president Museveni ignores those boys, they can be easily used by opposition politicians and foreigners to wreak havoc in Kamapala. He also told me that some of them have heavily invested in this country, so they are not ready to run into exile,” Mbidde said
This website has exclusively established that intelligence operatives have revisited the intelligence reports they authored in the 2021 general elections where foreign activists like Kenyan politician Babu Owino were implicated in the deadly plan of using riots to make Uganda ungovernable and force Museveni out of power.
After threatening to arrest Owino who was planning to come in 2021 to campaign for his friend Bobi Wine in Uganda, Museveni publicly declared Owino as one of the Uganda’s enemies claiming that his intelligence has gathered a number of reports which implicate him.
Even though Owino denied the allegation, highly placed sources in intelligence are claiming that Owino and another Kenyan lady called Gladys helped Bobi Wine transport billions of moneys from American billionaire George Soros’ cronies through his Open Society to facilitate anti Museveni government activities locally and abroad.
Intelligence claims that Owino helped Bobi Wine to get a safe house near Kasarani Sports Complex where sensitive meetings were held and Bobi Wine’s grassroot mobilizers (foot soldiers) who were placed on Uganda security’s wanted list were kept before they were sent to Canada, United States and other western countries
Intelligence insists that Mityana Municipality legislator Francis Butebi Zaake was used as Bobi Wine’s contact in the entire move and he transported money which was used to facilitate anti Museveni government activities. A decision was taken in one of the security council meeting to have Zaake arrested but this move was stopped by President Museveni at the last hour before being it was executed.
Intelligence claims that Zaake was working with foot soldiers who included: Mohammed Nyanzi Moshi, Hamis Makumbi, Leo Kisekka, Godfrey Agodri alias Sky Walker, Kalibbala alias KK, Issa Kizito alias Commander Muto, Ndawula Arthur alias Ghetto King, Masembe John alias Nasifu, Kibirango Kassim Muwanga alias Dog City, Mulinde Julius alias Julio among others
Intelligence claims that since President Uhuru Kenyatta took over Kenyan leadership, Kenya become a no go zone for anti Museveni government activist and a number of them including the late Dr Agrey Kiyingi, Jamil Mukulu Kyagulanyi survived being arrested from there.
It was until 2024 when security operatives from Uganda kidnapped Dr Kizza Besigye and his political assistant Al-Hajji Obed Kamulegeya Lutale on allegation that they were planning to assassinate Museveni, poison top government officials and take over government
Since November 2024, Besigye and Kamulegeya are battling with treason charges and are being defended by Kenyan human rights law giant Martha Karua.
Sources told this website that there are elements locally and international who want to turn the 2026 elections violent and make Uganda ungovernable and it is the reason why Museveni is very carefully with foreigners who enter the country at this time.
It is alleged that the kidnapped Kenyans are likely being grilled to give information on other foreigners who have entered the country to help Bobi Wine campaigns.
NUP Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya confirmed that his party was aware of the presence of both activists in the country who had come to boost their campaigns in Eastern Uganda.
