Maverick State Minister For Lands in the Ministry of Lands Housing and Urban Development Dr Sam Mayanja insists that Justice Jane Kajuga the Acting Principal Judge and other judiciary top bosses should pick interest in the alleged biased actions of Justice Isaac Bony Teko the judge of the High Court.
Exclusively speaking to this website, Mayanja confirmed to us that he gave instructions to his lawyers of Kampala Associated Advocates (KAA) on his behalf and on behalf of Phiona Birungi the Senior Presidential Assistant on Special Duties to challenge and make sure that the orders issued by Justice Teko against them are put aside so that they are accorded a fair hearing.
“I am a highly respected lawyer, I know how courts work and I cannot sit on my right and look on as a judicial officer is being used to dirten an institution where all Ugandans go to get justice. I should be the example to prove to all Ugandans that as long as Museveni is still the president of Uganda, all Ugandans will get justice before the laws of Uganda,” Mayanja said.
He insists that judiciary authorities should investigate and prove that Justice Teko is the one who wrote the ruling which resulted into the orders issued against them noting that the language used in the ruling create a lot of suspicion
Mayanja’s war on Justice Teko resulted from the orders the judicial officer issued against the government officials shielding the interests of Ronald Muwenda Mutebi the Kabaka of Buganda and his Buganda Land Board company on Kaazi land.
The judge issued orders stopping the execution of the orders that the minister issued including cancelling the land titles in the names of Kabaka of Buganda on the said land. He ordered the land to be registered in the names of the administrators of the Estate of the fallen Buganda kingdom King Sir Daudi Chwa
Mayanja claims that before the orders were issued, he pleaded with the presiding judge to allow him to also file his defence because he was sued in his personal capacity but the judge rubbished him on grounds that he was threatening him and giving him orders on how to handle the matter.
In a related development, Mayanja has also petitioned Brig Gen Henry Isoke the Commandant of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit to pick interest and investigate the matter so as to establish the ownership of the said land.
He confirmed to Brig Gen Isoke that it was President Museveni who instructed him to help the Scouts to save their land which was being threatened by land grabbers.
He avers that he did his investigations and whatever he discovered, he has forwarded it to him to start from there after realising that the matter has grown bigger than he expected it to be.
However, Kabaka and Buganda Land Board insist that the said land is part of the properties President Museveni returned to the Kingdom in 1993 after the restoration of traditional leadership in the country after their abolishment by President Milton Obote’s government.
