The state minister for Youth and children affairs, Balaam Barugahare has commended the good works done by the outgoing Miss High School, Grace Amber Birungi and encouraged her to aim higher.

The state minister for Youth and children affairs, Balaam Barugahare has commended the good works done by the outgoing Miss High School, Grace Amber Birungi and encouraged her to aim higher.

The minister held a private meeting with Birungi early this week at parliament in the presence of youth members of parliament.

Birungi, a student of Elite High School is the Miss High School 2024 thanked the minister for accepting her prayer to meet her to discuss with him issues concerning youths and how they can utilize the peaceful environment to change the mindset of coming leaders who are going to steer Uganda to greater heights.

Balaam thanked Birungi for the good ideas she has for the country, and he promised to take her to the Chief of Défense Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba for a discussion on how the government can utilize her ideas to benefit the coming generation.

“I’m encouraging you my younger sister to continue advising fellow students and youths around you to stay upright, avoid drugs, bad company and desist from any negative temptations which may cost their lives,” Balaam said.

He added that as a minister in charge of youth affairs, he has always seen Birungi’s good work and her good messages to the youth as a  voluntary ambassador for the youth ministry.

He promised together with other youth legislators to support her and make sure that she becomes the next miss tourism or miss Uganda at an appropriate time.

Birungi thanked her spiritual father, Pastor Brother Ronnie Makabai for always praying for her and encouraging her that God will help her realize her dreams and pave the way to her success.

“I also thank my mother Dr Olive Enid Nabiryo, she has been always guiding me and standing with me. I advise my fellow students and youth to have good ambitions and also avoid drugs,” Birungi said.
