This investigative website can exclusively report that in a surprise move, a top judge early this month was cited sneaking into the Chief of Défense Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba offices at Kasenyi Entebbe Municipality Wakiso district.

The said judge is among the top contenders who are fighting to replace Justice Owiny Dollo as the next Chief Justice of Uganda after clocking the 70 years retirement age.

Since Dr Justice Douglas Singiza the chairperson of the Uganda Judicial Service Commission announced the position, a number of suitable candidates have applied for the job and after submiting their papers, they have started cementing their ground by reaching out to those with power and influence to boost their chances of being announced as the next Chief Justice come January 2026 when Justice Dollo will be leaving office.

Being a first-son and a suitable next president in making, Gen Muhoozi is looked at as one of the people who can determine who the next Chief Justice will be and the judge cited driving into Kasenyi has been boasting to friends how close he is to the CDF to the extent that if he pays him a visit, he does not need to knock at his door.

Highly placed sources told this website that it is very rare for people to enter Kasenyi where the headquarter of the Special Forces Command (SFC) is without the knowledge of the CDF and a number of guests go through a tough search. But this was not the case with the said judge and many compared her to Lt Gen Proscovia Nalweyiso the Senior Presidential Advisor on defence and security who always just drives through Kasenyi up to the offices of Gen Muhoozi.

Sources allege that the meeting almost took three hours and since then, the judge has started closely following the files and proceedings against the National Unity Platform (NUP) leaders and foot soldiers charged and remanded over unlawful drilling charges.

Among them is Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro the party’s deputy spokesperson who was remanded to Upper prison even though his case is not grave to warrant being detained in upper prison.
