Swaleh Kateregga the National Resistance Movement (NRM) chairperson for Namugongo Division has declared war on Mamerito Mugerwa the Kira Municipality NRM chairperson accusing him of mismanaging millions of funds allocated by the party secretariate to mobilize support for their party Presidential candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Kateregga told Ono Bwino online that Rose Namayanja the NRM deputy secretary general assured him and other party leaders in Kampala and Wakiso that each NRM member sitting at the party local structures is supposed to receive Shs50,000 each at every mobilization meeting held.
“ A part from giving leaders money, we are supposed to be given eats and drinks during the meeting but Mamerito only buy for us these small Yaket water bottles and cakes of Shs500 without giving us food and our transport refund,” Kateregga said.
He claims that they held strategic meetings at Kyaliwajjala, and in other parts of the Municipality but they were not given transport refund. He added that he is planning to petition the party top leadership to intervene before Museveni start campaigning in Kampala and Wakiso.
