Months after the National Unity Platform (NUP) principal Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) graduated with a law degree from Cavendish university, this website’s political desk can exclusively report that a number of his party members have also went back to university to add on their books.
Among those who have gone back to university is Aloysius Mukasa the Lubaga South legislator who is reading law at Uganda Pentecostal university.
Even though he is under pressure concerning whether he will be given a NUP ticket, he spares some time to consult fellow legislators including Joseph Sewungu and others who studied law at a mature age like him to guide him on how they passed.
This is the second degree that Mukasa is pursuing.
It should be remembered that months before joining elective politics in 2021, he graduated with a Business Administration degree from Ndejje University which helped him to survive the parliamentary election petition filed by his immediate political opponent Eugenia Nassolo who was challenging his academic qualification at the High Court.
Mukasa assured the Leader of Opposition in Parliament and also the Nakawa West legislator that he is his role model and it is the reason why he went back to university at his age to also become a lawyer like him.
“I’m told you’re reading law now,” Ssenyonyi asked Mukasa recently at Kanyanya Chief Magistrate’s Court and he answered in affirmative
He pleaded with Ssenyonyi to spare sometime for him because he has issues he wants to address to him and always frequents his office at parliament but he is always told that he is not available yet he rarely picks his phone calls.
This website has established that Mukasa is among the legislators who are panicking over the party ticket to return to Parliament.
