This investigative website can exclusively report that operatives from different security agencies raided a shrine in Mubende district as operations to arrest flamboyant city land dealer Muhammad Kamoga widened.
Since last year, Kamoga the proprietor of the defunct Kamoga Property Consultants has been on the run after Entebbe Chief Magistrates Court issued an arrest warrant against him to answer to multiple criminal charges of fraud in regards to forging of a lawyer’s practicing certificate, lawyer’s signature and stamp and a number of other charges.
Upon learning that security was using his known phone numbers to trace his movements, he switched them all off and according to highly placed sources close to him, he is struggling to secure an avenue to sneak out of the country to survive prosecution.
“His contacts in security have helped him a lot to survive arrest all this time. Security used the communication between him, the witchdoctor who is handling him and his wife to trace his hideout in Mubende,” a friend told this reporter.
He added that the witchdoctor learnt about the raid five minutes before security surrounded the home and urgently advised Kamoga to take off and that’s how he survived.
The witchdoctor was grilled and he admitted that for weeks, he was working on Kamoga but he advised him to surrender himself to the authorities.
He wondered why he declined to take his advice and told security that he currently does not know his whereabouts.
It should be remembered that it was a witchdoctor who played a central role in the arrest and giving of convincing evidence against the suspects accused of participating in the murder of Joan Kagezi Namazzi the Assistant Director of Public Prosecution.
In the Kagezi case, the witchdoctor told the Crimes War Division of the High Court that the suspect in her murder case went to his shrine in Kayunga district to be helped with spiritual powers to survive arrest and prosecution.
Ono Bwino has learnt that last week, Kamoga’s wife also survived arrest from Bukaya Cell, Garuga in Katabi Town Council in Wakiso district as she was trying to execute the husband’s orders of selling one of his plots in the area.
Because Kamoga is known for being a controversial land dealer, the buyer insisted on sealing the transaction in the presence of the area local chairperson, the wife pondered and agreed to go to the chairperson ready to surrender the 10% share to the chairperson on the entire transaction deal.
However, she was shocked when the chairperson insisted that the landlord has to first confirm the transaction noting that to his knowledge, Kamoga was just a tenant on the land.
The chairperson immediately made a phone call to a one Andrew Nganda the landlord.
The wife struggled to compromise the chairperson but he insisted that the landlord had to be present.
The chairperson however narrated to the buyer how he survived imprisonment because of witnessing a land transaction involving Kamoga without a landlord.
Well knowing that Nganda is one of the individuals looking for Kamoga, his presence was a bad news to Kamoga’s wife. She quickly pretended that she had gotten a private call on her phone and run away from the chairperson’s home.
Ono Bwino has learnt that the wife is desperately looking for money to save their Garuga multibillion matrimonial home which money lenders are threatening to auction to recover millions of monies they lent to Kamoga to settle his land related problems.
This reporter further learnt that Kamoga’s multibillion building a long Entebbe Road which even housed his company offices was also attached by money lenders and the process of changing its ownership is in the last touches.
The development comes at a time when the two sureties who stood for Kamoga when he was being released on court bail had just paid Shs10m to be discharged from holding the responsibility of standing as sureties for Kamoga who violated the court bail terms and runway.
