This investigative website can exclusively report that the appointing authority President Museveni has directed the Public Service Commission to process Justice Jane Kajuga as the new Director for Public Prosecution (DPP) as a replacement for Justice Jane Frances Abodo who was appointed the Principal Judge
This website has established that Justice Kajuga is expected to be announced as the DPP immediately after Abodo hands over office to take over the role of Principal Judge.
Before being appointed a High Court Judge in 2019, Justice Kajuga was a celebrated prosecutor in the DPP’s Office and was among the most feared female prosecutors. Others included Justice Khauka Komuhangi and Samalie Wakholi who successfully prosecuted the suspects in the murder of city businessman Eria Bugembe Ssebunya commonly known as Kasiwukira
Before joining the judiciary, Justice Kajuga was also the spokesperson of the Office of the DPP and held other positions which included being a Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, overseeing critical portfolios such as International Cooperation, Extraditions, and Mutual Legal Assistance.

Justice Kajuga has been a blue-eyed girl to Chief Justice Owiny Dollo who it is alleged has been mentoring her to takeover one of the top judiciary leadership positions.
Highly placed State House sources told this website that Justice Kajuga’s appointment as DPP will be a consolation to Justice Dollo who wanted her to be confirmed as the Principal Judge by the President. However, the president was advised not to confirm her because senior judges especially at the High Court look at her as their junior.
This website understands that Kajuga’s alleged appointment is still getting a lot of contestation from some members of the DEEP STATE who were fronting Civil Division of the High Court judge Simon Peter Kinobe who had already boasted around as the DPP in waiting insisting that his deployment in judiciary, was to transit him to bigger things like it was done to Justice Daglaus Singiza who was appointed the chairperson of the Judicial Service Commission recently.
However, prosecutors in the Office of the DPP who this website talk to when investigating this story were not happy with the President.
They allege he did not fish from them and name one of them to become DPP. They claim people from outside will disorganizes the way they run their work.
One of them told us that they expected the Assistant Director of Public Prosecution in charge of War Crimes Lino Anguzo to replace Justice Abodo because he has been a career prosecutor and he understands the directorate very well.
This website also understands that a senior lawyer working with the State House legal department was also shocked to learn that the president is preferring Kajuga to replace Abodo. He was however told that the big man is preparing something big for him.
