Celebrated Human Rights icon and also retired Court of Appeal judge Justice Remmy Kasule is in tears as he tries to search for means to save his multibillion property which a ruthless money lender is threatening to auction to recover money he lent to him.
According to the advert placed in one of the country’s dailies, Justice Kasule has been given 30 days from the date the advert ran which is this week to clear the debt which is in millions of shillings and also pay the fees of the lawyers of Okecha Baranyanga and Company Advocates who were hired to execute the matter.
The property under threat is situated on Kyadondo Block 225, Plot 715 land at Munyonyo a Kampala suburb measuring 0.1010 and occupants in the buildings were given 14 days to vacate the promises to allow the potential buyers to fully inspect the building.
Sources close to Justice Kasule revealed that after retiring from public service, the soft spoken legal giant went back into private practice and provides legal consultancy. Most of his clients are politicians especially those from Buganda region.

In 2018, Justice Kasule shocked Ugandans when he ruled in favour of president Museveni declaring that parliament followed the proper legal procedures when lifting the age limit for the office of the president allowing the president to be in the office even if he was beyond 75 years.
But he saved former Nakawa Division legislator Micheal Kabaziguruka when he granted an interim order stopping his criminal trial before Makindye based Court Martial after Kabaziguruka challenged the trial of the civilians in the military court which the Supreme Court recently declared illegal.
