Immaculate Heart Girls’ School once again radiated with life and exuberance during the much-anticipated Inter-Colour Music, Dance, Drama and Extravaganza held on Easter Monday. The event was a true testament to the school’s total commitment to nurturing holistic excellence and empowering the girl child to become a woman of substance.
Firmly rooted in the philosophy of delivering an all-round education, Immaculate Heart has, over the years, consistently produced ambassadors in every sphere of life. The school’s vibrant learning environment fosters total growth—spanning academic rigor, discipline, moral uprightness, emotional intelligence, and talent development.
This holistic vision is brought to life through a robust blend of curricular and co-curricular engagements. Indoor and outdoor games such as chess, scrabble, football, table tennis, basketball, handball, volleyball, beach soccer, netball, and golf are enthusiastically embraced.

Through such platforms, students cultivate teamwork, resilience, and physical vitality.
Immaculate Heart further instills patriotism and social responsibility through an impressive spectrum of over twenty dynamic student clubs and societies. These include: Red Cross, UNESCO, Wild Life, Drama, Debate, Interact, Teen Star, Girl Guide, Youth Alive, Focolare, YCS, STEM, SWAS, Tooke, Patriotism, Leo’s Club, Mental Health, Brass Band, Choir and many more. These clubs not only foster creativity and service but also equip learners with critical life skills and environmental consciousness.Immac is also a citadel of queens.
Miss immac pageantry is held every first term where we crown Miss Immac, Miss Teen, Little Miss Teen, Heritage Queen, Miss peace, Miss Faith, Miss Health, Miss Environment, Heritage Queen among others. These do whatever it takes to make the students behave like a queen. Miss Immac pageantry was held on 29th March, 2025.

Religious formation forms a cornerstone of character building at the school. Movements such as Divine Mercy, Legion of Mary, Scripture Union, Christian Charismatic Renewal, The Living Rosary, Praise and Worship, YCS, and Youth Alive convene regularly, reinforcing the school’s spiritual fabric and connection to God. Each club or movement is guided by dedicated patrons and student leaders, encouraging leadership development and a strong sense of identity.
As eloquently put by Mr. Begura Richard, clubs patron: “The clubs and movements at Immaculate Heart are pillars in every student’s preparation for tomorrow. To undermine them is to dim the light of the girls’ future.”

Each term at Immaculate is infused with purposeful activities. The first term features Cultural Day, S.1 Concert, Easter Celebrations, Club Trips, Inter-Colour Competitions, Immac Pageantry, and sports at district and regional levels. The second term follows with Patriotism drills (Chakamuchaka), the Science Fair, S.5 Concert, leadership elections, national competitions, diocesan mocks, leavers’ parties, and celebrations of club victories. The third term is academically focused, leading up to national exams, with co-curricular activities climaxing in the vibrant Resourceful Week. During this week, students enjoy career talks, aerobics, the Leaders’ Concert, Religious Bouquet, Clubs Day, Brain Games, and Crème de la Crème showcases.
This year’s Easter Monday celebration was nothing short of spectacular. Under the theme “Utilisation of Available Resources for Community Development,” the Inter-Colour Music, Dance and Drama Competitions officially launched on Palm Sunday. Two new colours—Purple and Grey—were introduced by Headmistress Sr. Sabina Tumusiime and Deputy Headmistress Sr. Grace, bringing the total number of houses to six.

2. Green – Tr. Mubilu Moses
3. Red – Tr. Kakombe Moses

Come Easter Monday, the D-Day arrived, and the stage was set for brilliance. The energy was electric and the talent unmatched. Judges, including national MDD icons and special guests— Mr. Muhangi James, Mr. Bukenya, Lady Bridget, Lady Priscilla, and The Centenary Bank Staff—graced the occasion and generously blessed students with wisdom and gifts.

Mr. Muhangi James, a distinguished guest of the day, truly understood the assignment.
James Muhangi, an Agricultural Economist from Makerere University, is a dynamic professional with expertise spanning agribusiness, cooperative governance, finance, gender mainstreaming, research, consultancy, and entrepreneurial innovation across Uganda’s agricultural sector.
In his address, Mr. Muhangi radiated an enormous love for the youth — the steadfast pillars of Uganda’s tomorrow. He extolled the vibrant talents blossoming at Immaculate Heart Girls’ School and heartily commended the administration for championing a holistic education that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit of the girl-child. Laden with gifts,500,000 for the winningcolour, pearls of wisdom, and words of encouragement, he pledged to facilitate a Memorandum of Understanding between Rubanga and Immaculate Heart Girls’ School aimed at equipping many young women with vital skills and a deeper sense of purpose. His generosity and vision left a profound imprint on the hearts of the girls, who, in turn, honored him with resounding appreciation.

Mr. Bukenya Paul, Marketing and Sales Executive, together with the Chief Executive Officer of T-Shirt General Prints, Lady Buhamizo Bridget, graced the occasion with notable distinction. Their presence rightfully earned them the honorary title of Guests of Honour, akin to Mr. Muhangi James.
Mr. Bukenya, a Bachelor of Commerce graduate from Makerere University Business School
(MUBS), and Lady Bridget, a specialist in Procurement and Logistics from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), arrived in grand company with Lady Priscilla. Upon their arrival at the gates of Immaculate Heart Girls’ School, they were accorded an honourable welcome by the elegant Immaculate Heart Queens, who graciously led their esteemed entourage into the arena to a heartwarming standing ovation from the student body and staff. Following this, the anthems were sung, marking a ceremonial commencement to the festivities.
In a spirit of generosity and heartfelt connection, the distinguished guests presented an array of gifts to the students — including a cash prize of 500,000 UGX for the victorious Green Colour House, T-shirts for the outgoing Queens, and special awards for outstanding performers and members of the school administration.

In their addresses, Mr. Bukenya and Lady Bridget expressed profound gratitude to the school administration for the privilege of presiding over such a momentous occasion. They eloquently underscored the critical role of Music, Dance, and Drama — not merely as platforms for showcasing talent, but as vital avenues for deepening students’ love for their school. Loving the school, they emphasized, translates into cherishing education, echoing the timeless wisdom of Nelson Mandela who proclaimed that education is the most powerful weapon with which to change the world.
The duo lavished praise upon the students’ extraordinary talents witnessed in poetry recitation, public speaking, traditional and contemporary dances, fashion exhibitions, acting, and more. To them, Immaculate Heart Girls’ School stands, and shall forever stand, as a true citadel of excellence.
Reflecting on the day’s theme — Utilisation of Available Resources for Community Development (under the Senior Three Competence-Based Curriculum projects) — the guests articulated a profound understanding and interpretation of its essence. In a moving pledge, they promised unwavering support and continued collaboration with Immaculate Heart Girls’ School, aiming to elevate its excellence beyond the skies — even soaring past Jupiter.
As their visit drew to a close, the students, led by a bevy of student leaders and Queens, escorted them with heavy hearts, reluctant to bid farewell to such beloved guests whose presence had deeply touched them.

In her closing remarks, the Headmistress, Sister Sabina Tumusiime, offered heartfelt thanks to the distinguished guests for honouring the school with their presence. She also extended her gratitude to the Centenary Bank staff for their enduring partnership and sponsorship of the day’s special prizes.
She prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the harmonious and promising future that all parties are striving to build.

The administration recognized the colour patrons with tokens of appreciation, and a bull was awarded to the winning house.Their positions were as follows
1st Green Colour
2nd Yellow Colour
3rd Purple Colour
4th Blue Colour,
5th Red colour
6th Grey Colour
The day ended in euphoric celebration, with Green basking in the glory of a well-earned win.
