Security were called urgently to save the situation as female Democratic Party top boss poured punches on elderly Kennedy Mutenyu who was screaming on the ground as other party leaders took cover while filming the scene

The chaos started after Mutenyu the party’s Electoral Commission raised a serious accusation against Dr Blacks Gerald Siranda the party’s Secretary General who was chairing the party’s management meeting on the zoom because he was on official duties in Tanzania where he is representing Uganda at the East African parliament.

Mutenyu raised his complaint after the party president general Norbert Mao who is also the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs excused himself from chairing the October 15th meeting after receiving an emergency phone call from one of his bosses assigning him to go and represent government on a television talk show

According to highly placed sources in DP, members who  included Herbert Rutagwera the party’s organizing secretary, Martin Wakholi the party’s accountant, Surah Adong the party’s head of women affairs were not happy with Mutenyu for raising issues concerning Siranda when he is chairing the meeting pleading. They asked him to wait until Mao will chair the meeting to avoid conflict of interest.

However, Mutenyu insisted on placing Siranda on the wall questioning him why he is undermining him as the party’s electoral commission boss when he was giving party cards to candidates contesting for parliamentary seats.

As he was denying the allegations, Mutenyu lost his patience and raised his voice accusing Siranda of being a hypocrite. He wondered why he was giving party cards to candidates like Mukyala Bakojja of Kyotera district who is a staunch supporter of Richard Ssebamala who is opposing Mao’s DP leadership

“Siranda, you should stop that hypocrisy, do you want to impeach Mao, or you’re using your party position to front your 2030 political agendas? Why are you violating the party systems, you’re taking our party back,” Mutenyu was quoted telling Siranda.

Arrogantly, Siranda assured Mutenyu that he is nothing in the party. He boasted that he is the chief administrator of the party’s secretariat. This further pissed off Mutenyu who accused him of using the issuing of party tickets to sleep with people’s daughters and wives.

As Siranda looked for a response to Mutenyu’s accussation, Adong jumped out of her seat and gave Mutenyu two sharp punches which sent him to the ground. As he was staggering to get back to his feet, she kicked him again as Wakholi was celebrating and throwing his hands in the air.

Florence Mugerwa another DP member was very scared and shouted on top of her voice calling security that Mao hired to prevent his political enemies from accessing his DP headquarters at Balintuma road to come and rescue the situation.

Mugerwa pleaded with powerful Adong and Wakholi not to kill elderly Mutenyu who was already bleeding from his mouth and noise.

Security struggled to open the door which was closed from inside.

Mutenyu gained his energy stood up, and he was moving out of the room, he threatened to take legal action against Wakholi and Among.

He also vowed to report Siranda to the husbands of the women he slept with allegedly in Kampala ghetto lodges to report him.

“I know you are also a girlfriend to Siranda, but I’m going to teach you a lesson. You are going to stop at me,” Mutenyu shouted as security escorted him out of the room.

Since this beginning of year, this is the third time that Mutenyu is publicly being insulted.

The first time was when he was preparing the party’s delegates conference in Mbarara, Ssebamala supporters attacked DP headquarters and as Mutenyu tried to stop them from entering, he was given a sharp kick which put him on the ground and his hand, mouth, nose were injured.

In Mbarara, while he was fighting to save Mao’s victory, he received punches and kicks from Ssebamala’s supporters. He announced Mao and other leaders including Siranda as winners.

Both Siranda and Mutenyu declined to comment on the matter as cracks in the DP top leadership widen.
