Dr Kizza Besigye’s longtime henchman Robert Mayanja has accused controversial veteran journalist Andrew Mujuni Mwenda of being a bad handler to Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and also the Senior Presidential Advisor in charge of special operations.
Gen Muhoozi through his X handle has been posting controversial and provocative statements.
“For all along, I was asking myself where is Gen Muhoozi getting all this time to post on social media what he is posting. But after watching the shouting match on NBS TV’s frontline talk show between Mwenda and Ssemujju, I realised that the man is the one posting controversial statements to place our CDF in bad light and he needs to explain it very fast to Ugandans,” Mayanja said.
He explained that while on NBS TV’s frontline, Mwenda furiously narrated how Dr Besigye was planning to assassinate Museveni and was expressing the anger Gen Muhoozi used when he was posting a message where he announced the date and place to kill Dr Besigye by hanging.

Mayanja added that Muhoozi cannot call National Unity Platform (NUP) principle Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) as Kabobi and threaten to kill him and all his supporters for putting on attires resembling those of the army. He insists that these words should be from Mwenda because he knows Bobi Wine more than Muhoozi does.
“We know very well that Mwenda has a history with Gen Muhoozi and they are friends but he should be brought to book and told to stop misleading our CDF and placing our country in controversies and danger,” he said.
Efforts to get a comment from Mwenda were futile. Mwenda is the spokesperson of Gen Muhoozi’s Patriotic League of Uganda and always travels with him locally and internationally.
His friend and also the Kira Municipality legislator Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda describe Mwenda as a desperate personal who is looking for survival and thinks that without president Museveni or Gen Muhoozi, he cannot survive that’s why he placed his integrity on line to defend them at all cost.
He explained that when he looked at Mwenda especially when shouting at him on NBS TV frontline, he exhibited the character and behaviours of the ruthless Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) youth wing during Dr Milton Obote’s second term as the president of Uganda.
However, Mwenda insists that Museveni is also a human being who feels bad especially when someone like Besigye plans to assassinate him, noting that all evidence (to pin Besigye) is available.
