Campaign agents and managers of celebrated land dealer Jimmy Lukwago are furious after learning that Barbra Itungo Kyagulanyi wife to National Unity Platform (NUP) Principal Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) declined to accept their prayer to meet their agent.
This website has established that after picking nomination forms to contest for Kira Municipality Member of Parliament seat, Lukwago realised that he needs to energise his mobilization efforts both locally and at the party headquarters.
He was told that even though he has a lot of money and has invested a lot in the party activities including helping the families of the political prisoners and funding party activities in the constituency, his chances of defeating city lawyer George Musisi for the ticket were minimal.
He was advised to look for someone who can help him to compromise Bobi Wine to support his quest for the party ticket so that he can faceoff with People’s Front for Freedom’s Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda and NRM’s Daniel Kananura in the 2026 parliamentary elections.

His political strategists zeroed on Barbie as a strong person who can compromise Bobi Wine and highly placed sources in their camp intimated to this website that they contacted a female doctor who is a close friend to Barbie and also a leader at NUP headquarters to lead the mission of meet NUP’s first lady born in Ntungamo in Western Uganda.
Ono Bwino has established that Lukwago facilitated the process with millions of shillings but last week he was informed that Barbie declined to meet them.
Lukwago’s emissaries were advised to solve all their issues with the party’s Election Management Committee (EMC) insisting that Bobi Wine ordered her not to involve herself in NUP issues.
“He wanted to table all evidence showing that he is the one commanding the ground including whatever he has done for the party so that Barbie also in turn pleads his case before Bobi Wine,” a NUP source said.
Sources said that Lukwago also wanted to show evidence placing Musisi at the scene of crime working with NRM henchmen and women. Among evidence he wanted to table included allegations of Musisi campaigning with a one Norman Kabogoza who has just crossed to NUP from NRM yet he is still in touch with NRM leadership.
He further claimed that Musisi doesn’t have control of the ground because he recently organised a football tournament in the highly populated Kirema willage in Kireka but it was attended by very few people.
However, Lukwago is also accused of sealing a political deal with Ssemujju in the 2021 parliamentary elections and hiding from campaigns claiming that he did not have money to fund his campaigns.
The development comes at a time when Bobi Wine has instituted a committee to investigate allegation of sexual harassment and corruption within the party top leadership where people are asked for a lot of money for them to secure a party ticket in the coming general elections.
As it was the case in the 2021 elections, the name of his elder brother Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu is still topping the list of the individuals accused of being involved in these crimes even though he has severally denied these allegations.
