Ono Bwino can exclusively report that last week, Frederick Mbagadhi Nkayi the Commissioner in the Office of the president in charge of Kampala Metropolitan summoned Maria Lubega the transferred Buikwe district Resident Commissioner (DRDC) at Kingdom building to defend herself on land grabbing allegations made against her.
Lubega is accused of using her office to shield land grabbers and she was grilled for hours before being informed that her bosses will communicate to her their decision on the matter together with a number of others.
The Office of the President also established that Dr Hamid Nsubuga also filed a lawsuit concerning land grabbing against her in her personal capacity at Lugazi High Court.
Highly placed sources at the office of the president revealed to Ono Bwino that David Matovu the senior RDC was the first to be grilled and was also warned.
On Friday, Lubega was asked to pick her letter from the Office of the president transferring her to Mayuge district as deputy RDC with immediate effect.
Sources said that Mayuge deputy RDC Sarah Kasadha replaced Lubega at Buikwe as investigations against Lubega continue.
Before being transferred to Buikwe, Lubega was deployed in Wakiso as RDC in charge of Kasangati but there were complaints against her related to fueling land grabbing.
Efforts to get a comment from Lubega over the allegations made against her were futile since our calls to her known phone number went answered by press time.
