Broadway primary School is celebrating a double win in SOM Academy football tournament again this year .
The Mityana district-based primary school football youngstars team exhibited super talent in the junior football tournament played at SOM centre play ground at Kiwaawu, Mityana.
Out of the three categories competed (U-10, U-13 and U-15), Broadway went away with two trophies of U-10 and U-13.
Eight Schools from different regions of the country competed in this year’s edition which was played on one day starting with primaries to the knock out games.
They included; Joy Primary School also from Mityana, Mungu Soccer academy from Entebbe Municipality in Wakiso district, Broadway Primary School from Naama, Mityana, Hopes of Promise from Bujjuko in Wakiso district, SOM Soccer academy the host, SOM Gulu from Gulu city, SOM Pugwinyi from Gulu and SOM Koro from Gulu.
In the final games played in U-10, Broadway won Joy Primary School in penalty shoot out 3:2 after 1:1 draw.
In U-13, Broadway Primary School won its second trophy after defeating Mungu Soccer academy 2:1.
In U-15, SOM, the host won SOM Gulu in a penalty shoot out 2:1 after 1:1 draw.

The winners were awarded with a set of jerseys, trophies, medals to winners and runners up, boots to top scorers, accolades to most valuable players and disciplined players were also awarded.
Robert Katende the Chief Executive Officer of the SOM Chess Academy and the founder of this tournament stated that the aim of this tournament is to nurture new talents from different regions of the country
Denis Kidde, the head coach of Broadway Primary School told Ono Bwino that team work, consistency training and motivation helped them to win this year’s edition.
Matsiko Sharale, a P.5 pupil from Broadway Primary School who was a top scorer in U-10 with 7 goals revealed that listening and taking instructions from his coaches and making research on how football celebrities and stars manage themselves enabled him to put up an extraordinary performance in this year’s tournament.
Vincent Ssebiiddo, the U-13 captain from Broadway Primary School also revealed that it was teamwork which enabled them to be this year’s Champions.
The primary five star added that in future, he is praying and doing whatever is in their capacity to reach the levels of international football stars like Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo.
