Ono Bwino can exclusively report that panic is high among State House and security commandants as the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba intensified investigations to established how National Unity Platform (NUP) Principal Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) escaped from his Magere home and ended up boasting in United States of America that he beat the country’s intelligence and security.
Appearing on foreign media houses and through his social media platforms, Bobi Wine confirmed that his escape was facilitated by top security bosses and Ugandans who he praised for having Uganda at heart and he promised to return back into the country at the right time.
Sources allege that Bobi Wine escaped from his home, on 16th day of January 2026 a day after casting his vote after being informed that there was a planned security operation on his home and he was the target.
Former State House security operative Charles Rwomushana insist that what Bobi Wine did was wrong because he exposed his contacts in the security to their bosses and they are now in huge trouble.

Days after Bobi Wine announced how he was helped by top security commandants, Gen Muhoozi fired Brig Abdul Rugumayo as the Deputy Chief of Defence Intelligence and Security (DIS) and replaced him with Brig Gen Oscar Munanura.
He further ordered for the arrest of his longtime friend Maj Gen Don William Nabasa who has been serving as the Joint Staff Policy and Strategy in the UPDF and Brig Johnson Namanya Abaho the former Commissioner of Citizenship and Passport Management at the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control in the ministry of Internal Affairs.
The development also comes at a time when Counter terrorism commandos who provided Bobi Wine with security in the 2026 general elections were arrested and allegations were made that they were charged and dismissed from the force with disgrace.
The commandos were identified as Jeff Okadan, John Osike, Joshua Kigenyi, Emma Luzire and according to highly placed sources, their alleged dismissal resulted from the ongoing investigations on how Bobi Wine escaped from his home because his escape exposed the country’s intelligence.
Sources claim that in a bid to protect the country from post election violence, Gen Muhoozi was on top of the alleged planned security operation on Bobi Wine’s home and he was going to be used as an exhibit to the world that Uganda has the capacity to execute an operation like the same way the American commandos did when arresting Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores at their residence in Caracas.
Sources claim that Gen Muhoozi wanted to prove to the world that Uganda has the capacity to pick any person they have interest in like the Americans that is why he was furious upon learning that the target was tipped and he escaped from his home and he is very sure that one of his own leaked his plan to the target.
Ono Bwino has learnt that President Museveni was supposed to be briefed after the operation and according to sources, it is the reason why Bobi Wine was tipped to move out of the country.
This website has also learnt that Museveni directed that for any operation to be executed on Bobi Wine or Dr Kizza Besigye, he should be the one to sanction it because of the sensitivity of the said individuals.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Bobi Wine escaped from his home in military gear and he was driven in a military car and security on the roadblock placed on the road to his home saluted him thinking that he was one of their bosses since he was the one seated in the behind seat.
Veteran investigative journalist Andrew Mwenda who is also a close friend to Gen Muhoozi disclosed that Museveni was briefed after Bobi Wine had escape and he was told where he was hiding but he directed that he should not be arrested but they should just put eyes on him.
Sources claim that days after intelligence lost Bobi Wine movements on their rada, two narratives were peddled, one alleged that he was smuggled out of the country through Rwanda, another claimed that he was smuggled through Entebbe International Airport using one of the top diplomat’s cars and all this was done to stop any pending unrest.
State House sources claim that Bobi Wine’s escape has widen the misunderstanding among Museveni family after some of them were cited in playing a central role in helping the Magere singer cum politician to escape and the people who did this wanted to send a message to Gen Muhoozi that they have the capacity to beat him at his own game.
This website learnt that this is the reason why Bobi Wine’s Personal Assistant Sharif Najja Ssenyonjo’s wife Fauzia Natambi was arrested because her relatives and those of her husband are working in State House and investigators wanted to know whether they played any role in helping Bobi Wine to escape from the country.
This website has also learnt that the Deep State members are scared over the ongoing investigations on grounds that they may further divide them and security especially when their close friends who are also born from their home districts are arrested.
