While campaigning in Masaka city, President Museveni said that he has started receiving information that opposition supporters are threatening his people.
He advised those being threatened to report those threatening them to the relevant authorities so that security takes action against them.
A furious Museveni said that this time, he is not going to allow any person to intimidate his supporters.
He further boasted that the culprits will be arrested and kept somewhere as proof to his supporters that he is still strong and can shield them from all sorts of threats.

Museveni warning comes hours after Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama the chairperson of the Electoral Commission alleged that he was approached by some elderly persons in Kampala who told him that they nearly missed casting their votes in 2021 because they were intimidated by youths who were supporting a certain political party and it is the reason why he is advising people not to stay at the polling station after voting.
“Because one of those people was intimidated had a gun, he put it in his jacket and went with it to the polling station ready to deal with those youths. So, we cannot allow people who we don’t know what they drink or eat to stay at the polling station,” Byabakama said.
Even though opposition strongman Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) of the National Unity Platform (NUP) is insists on rallying his supporters to stand firm against intimidation and stay at the polling station to protect their vote, this website can exclusively report that security has started detailing and zeroing on the coordinators of Bobi Wine’s protest vote.
Highly placed security sources said that they have information that NUP coordinators have bought whistles and other instruments that which they plan to use during the execution of Bobi Wine’s protest vote.
Since 2023, Bobi Wine has been directing his party leaders to build youth groups (egaali) to campaign for them through a slogan dubbed; ‘Kanonye, Kalonde, Kakume, Kalwanirire’ and sources allege that Bobi Wine established a clandestine team to coordinate his plans on the protest vote and they are already on the ground.
“At least now we know them, their capacity and we shall deal with them at the right time before they execute their final plans,” a senior intelligence officer said.
Sources divulged that an operation similar to that of the 2021 elections where security made a number of operations to arrest Bobi Wine supporters and coordinators is soon going to be activated.
“We know they have been getting training on coordinating riots from Kenya. They want to place Kampala on fire as it was in Tanzania but we will deal with them swiftly,” the security source added.
Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) recently advised Ugandans that after voting, everyone should go home and wait for their candidates’ agents, the media and observers to tell them the results.
However, Bobi Wine and Uganda Law Society president Isaac Ssemakadde insist that this is a scheme to steal votes.
