This website has exclusively learnt that Kampala city tycoons through their umbrella body of bagagga Kwagalana group have abandoned Ibrahim Kasozi the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) aspirant for Kampala Lord Mayor seat
Early this year, Kasozi held several meetings with members of the Kwagalana group in person and other tycoons not affiliated to the group through their agents and some agreed to support his political ambition to contest against Ssalongo Erias Lukwago in the coming 2026 elections.
His campaigning managers started boasting that their man is going to run one of the most expensive political campaigns Kampala city has ever seen.
However, our political desk has established that strategic political meetings have been taking place at Royal Complex building opposite new taxi park which have been attended by agents of city tycoons and sometimes tycoons themselves especially Hamis Kiggundu of Ham Enterprises and Daudi Kitandwe to discuss how they can help Musoke Nagenda the chairperson of Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) to defeat Lukwago instead of Kasozi.

Sources said that Musoke assured the tycoons that he has already laid a firm foundation on ground and he is very sure that he is going to win the NRM ticket for Lord mayor seat in Kampala that is why he needs their support.
Musoke has been closely working with the said tycoons who own a number commercial buildings in Kampala and has helped them to solve their grievances with their tenants amicably.
They trust him more than Kasozi, a seasoned politician.
At many Kwagalana group functions, Musoke has always been the master of ceremony.
He has also organized functions where he awarded medals and recognized Kampala city tycoons as people who helped grow the business fraternity in the country.
KACITA spokesperson Issa Ssekito who also declared his intentions to contest as Kampala Central Division MP seat is the spokesperson of bagagga Kwagalana group.
However, to secure the NRM ticket for Kampala Lord mayor, Musoke has to first defeat Moses Kizito who works with the Kyambogo base office of the NRM national chairperson.
Tycoons are tired of Lukwago claiming that he frustrates their business plans and projects on the grounds that they affect the common person in the city and exposing them when they have certain public land which they wanted to develop under cover and always ask for plans and other documents.
Sources claim that the fight to oust Lukwago from Kampala is commanded by Ham Kiggundu who declared that he will spend billions of money to make sure that Lukwago is defeated come 2026.
