Ono Bwino can exclusively report that panic has engulfed top leaders at the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretariat at Kyadondo road in Kampala city after learning that very soon the party chairperson who also doubles as the President of Uganda is set to announce new changes where some leaders will be dropped and others deployed in government offices.

Richard Todwong the party Secretary General boasted that the secretariat leadership have executed their assignment very well by delivering a very good percentage where the president won with more than 71% with his closest competitor from National Unity Platform (NUP) scoring only 21%

Todwong leadership have also managed to dominate parliamentary elections especially in Buganda where the party was badly defeated in the 2021 elections. He explained that they managed to achieve this because of the strong party structures from the grassroot to the top.

However, this website understands from highly placed sources that in the coming changes, Todwong is set to be deployed in the Office of the Prime Minister as one of the deputy prime ministers to soften the process of executing the party’s manifesto which they sold to voters.

Sources said that Museveni is still struggling to dominate Buganda because of its historical background and its geographical position, he is likely to replace Todwong with his deputy Rose Namayanja Nsereko who helped the party to score good results in Buganda to the extent of winning three parliamentary positions in Kampala.

Namayanja has been supervising the grassroot campaigns in Kampala which has led to senior Kampala minister Hajjat Minsa Kabanda defeating NUP Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya; in Kawempe South, Hajjat Madinah Nsereko defeated Bobi Wine’s elder brother Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu and in Nakawa East, former Attorney General Fred Ruhindi defeated NUP’s incarcerated deputy spokesperson Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro

Ono Bwino understands that Museveni is also set to drop Ambassador Barbara Nekesa Oundo as the party National treasure with plans to replace her with deputy Jacqueline Kyatuheire.

Sources said that Oundo is likely to be deployed back in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but sources said that even though he tried to manage the party’s finances, the billions of shillings in cash stolen from her home placed the party in bad light as people.

But she defended herself that the said money was not for the party but for her family members who are using it to do their personal businesses

Other leaders facing the knife include Emmanuel Lumala Dombo the party’s Director Information and Publicity who is likely to be dropped and replaced with veteran journalist Rogers Mulindwa who is currently the party’s secretariate spokesperson.

Sources said that this time, it is going to be hard for maverick party electoral commission chairperson Dr Tanga Odoi to survive and the president is still looking for his replacement.

Many have singled out counsel Enock Barata the party’s Chief legal officer insisting that the big man is planning to overhaul the entire party electoral commission, a move which is likely to cost James Kinobe.

Sources further disclosed that Museveni is likely to deploy Rosemary Sseninde the party’s Director Mobilisation, Cadre identifications back to the Ministry of Education to continue working with his wife Kataha Museveni as a junior minister but the problem is he is still assessing her replacement between Hajjat Uzeyi Namyalo who is in charge of the national party chairperson office and Moses Byaruhanga his longtime friend and his senior presidential advisor in charge of politics who have helped the party perform well in Kampala and Buganda at large.

After being declared victorious, President Museveni disclosed that he is going to be tough especially on non-performers, he made the statement while receiving a certificate declaring him winner of the 2026 presidential elections.

Sources are basing on his statement to claim that the big man no longer wants jokers at the secretariat because his leadership is facing a lot of local and foreign threats.

However, NRM sources also told Ono Bwino that the president was briefed about persons he appointed to head the secretariat who abused their offices by deploying their incompetent family members and friends to work under them insisting that it is the reason why some underperformed and it was recommended that he quickly sorts out the said issue.
