Ono Bwino can exclusively report that flamboyant Kampala Central member of parliament candidate Abraham Luzzi has fired a number of his hired social media influencers.
After successfully being nominated by Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama, Luzzi revealed that he is going to run a digital campaign by engaging voters through electronic media, social media and newspapers instead of moving from door to door and holding political campaign rallies like most of his colleagues.
He explained that holding campaigning rallies and physically engaging with voters is wasting of people’s time.
He divulged that voters should use the time they waste on rallies to work.
He added that his style of campaigning will discourage voter bribery and corruption.
To execute his campaign style, Luzzi hired a number of social media influencers especially those on YouTube, X, TikTok and other social media platforms, paid handsomely for time to be hosted on radios and televisions and on several occasions, his engagements trended.
Unfortunately, as elections comes to a close, he has fired a number of them.
Sources said that the reason why he fired them is their failure to crush lawyer Male Mabirizi who used social media, his preferred campaign ground, to mobilize Kampala voters not to be misled by Luzzi’s social media to vote him into public office claiming that the man is a fraudster who has always been in and out of jail.
Mabirizi alleged that Luzzi has been changing his names to hide his identity and to survive prosecution.
He narrated when Luzzi was charged before Buganda Road Court for conniving with his girlfriend to sell Buganda Kingdom land. When he was going to be arrested on his wedding day, he was saved by a powerful female military UPDF General who ordered his release from Kampala Central Police Station to attend his already organized wedding.
Mabirizi claimed that Luzzi was brought to contest in Kampala Central as Member of Parliament to disorganize National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate and also party Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya after realising that he is very powerful on social media.
However, when Luzzi commanded his social media army to take on Mabirizi, he was shocked when a number of them especially to tik tokers declined to heed to his order telling him that they are friends to the maverick lawyer.
“When they asked for their money for two weeks, Luzzi told them that he is the only person battling Mabirizi and Rubongoya supporters on social media. He then questioned their value to him after explaining that Mabirizi attacked him at a very dangerous time when voting is only two weeks away,” one of the fired social media influencers told Ono Bwino.
Luzzi put up a spirited fight on social media claiming that Mabirizi was attacking him because he refused to hire him to be part of his social media team.
He threatened to table a law once voted into parliament that will send people calling themselves lawyers without a practicing license like Mabirizi to prison.
This website has established that Luzzi an independent candidate has been paying social media influencers between two hundred thousand to one million shilling per week and there is a Ugandan abroad whom he paid twenty million shillings to silence him because he knows a lot of his dirty deals.
