When David Greenhalgh, a British ex-boyfriend to Ugandan socialite Shanita Namuyimbwa alias Bad Black jetted into the country, he immediately issued instructions to his lawyers to recover Shs1.5bn from a city lawyer.
The lawyers started with resurrecting a complaint Greenhalgh filed with Uganda Law Council against lawyer Patrick Furah who he accused of abusing his instructions to recover the money from different individuals including Bad Black and Medi Ssentongo who was Bad Black’s side dish.
According to Greenhalgh’s complaint, Furah recovered all the money but he used it for his personal issues.
When he was first dragged to the law council, he promised to pay but since 2017, he has failed to implement his promise.

As a result, the law council ordered for Furah’s arrest.
When he was arrested by police after spending a period in hiding, and was presented to the law council, he pleaded for more time to pay the money.
After some time, he did not show any plan on how he was going to pay.
After failing to show a payment plan, he was sentenced to Luzira prison for six months and also ordered to pay the money which now amounts to Shs1.8bn.
This website has established that Greenhalgh’s lawyers have started the process of searching for Furah’s properties to recover their client’s money.
So far, they are looking at his residential home in Kira which is worth between Shs300m to Shs500m but the challenge is it is not registered in his names. The two cars that the accussed was driving are also not registered in lawyer’s names while other properties are no where to been seen.
Furah has been suspended by the law council since 2017 and has not been practicing law in Uganda until he settles his problems with Greenhalgh who is an arms dealer.
At the law council offices in Kampala, Greenhalgh boasted that he will do whatever he can to recover his money.
Because of Greenhalgh’s money, Bad Black was imprisoned for four years and Ssentongo spent 18 months in prison.
Some of the money they stole was recovered by Greenhalgh’s lawyers like Furah.
