Ono Bwino can exclusively report that National Unity Platform (NUP) top leadership have started mobilizing financial support to buy a brand-new car for their Acting president and also the party national deputy president in charge of Northern Uganda Dr Lina Zedriga Waru.
Sources allege that the drive to mobilize money for the said car is as a result of several complaints which Zedriga and close friends have been making especially whenever she was travelling out of Kampala for party official duties.
“We welcome the effort because truth be told, our car is in a dangerous state. Sometimes meetings for top party leaders delay to start because the vice president’s car has developed mechanical issues on the way. Sometimes she jumps on boda bodas to catch-up with the meeting. People along Gayaza Road where her home is can testify,” one of Zedriga’s assistants stated.
Sources said that the party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) was briefed about the development and gave it a green light. The planned car will be worth more than Shs200m.

Sources added that buying a good car to Zedriga will also be an appreciation token to her for standing firm and accepting the challenge of running the party in absence of her boss Bobi Wine who escaped after disclosing that his life was in danger.
Sources said that preparations for Bobi Wine’s return are underway.
“The Defacto and Dejure President and ooh yes, the true HERO without any doubt, you awakened, inspired, educated us as you endured all kinds of torments! We await your triumphant return,” Zedriga stated on her X handle concerning Bobi Wine’s return.
It is not clear weather other deputy presidents will also be given new cars. NUP disclosed recently that they are facing a financial crisis as a result of the amendment of the Inter-Party Organisation for Dialogue (IPOD).
