Zahara Luyirika the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Speaker is in tears after his party President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) advised her to drop her interest of contesting as Makindye West Member of Parliament and fight to retain her seat as a councillor at KCCA.
Highly placed sources in the National Unity Platform (NUP) revealed to this investigative website that Bobi Wine also convinced Ali Kasirye Mulyanyama the Makindye Division mayor at a Boat cruise at his Busabala Beach in Wakiso district to drop his political interest of contesting for Kampala Lord Mayor seat come 2026 in favour of Ronald Balimwezo who has been the Nakawa East legislator.
Bobi Wine met Mulyanyama after Balimwezo accepted the deal to contest against Lord Mayor Ssalongo Erias Lukwago and to support Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro a resident of Mutungo in Nakawa East to replace him as the area legislator.
Bobi Wine according to the sources negotiated the deal to help his blue-eyed boy Mufumbiro achieve his dream of becoming an MP after realising that it is easier for him to win in Nakawa in is home in Jinja.

Sources added that NUP is preparing to front Timothy Batuwa who is going to cross from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) to NUP as Jinja Municipality West candidate.
Paul Mwiru will be fronted as Jinja Municipality East Constituency candidate. So there was no place for Mufumbiro.
Sources said that after Mulyanyama accepted the deal, Bobi Wine sent his assistants to advise Luyirika not to waste her time looking for a party ticket for Makindye West because the party will only support her to retain her seat as councillor and also to retain her office as KCCA speaker come 2026.
Sources further revealed that Bobi Wine also advised his party head of institutions David Musiri to concentrate on looking for support to become a councillor at KCCA representing one of the areas in Makindye Division.
Sources disclosed that to prove that his directive is put into effect, Bobi Wine directed Alex Wasswa the head of foot soldiers in Makindye Division to provide security to Mulyanyama whenever he travels on official party duties and to mobilize support for him.
Bobi Wine’s directives on Luyirika come at a time when her deputy at KCCA Nasur Masaba has just declared interest to contest for her office as a full speaker and he has already asked for support from the current councillors.
“Now it is time to get a professional person to be our speaker, Masaba is a lawyer by profession, he knows how to preside over a council unlike Luyirika who turns emotional when presiding over the council,” one of the councillors said.
He added that when Masaba who is also a NUP member is presiding over the council, he gives all councillors the opportunity to speak unlike Luyirika who only gives opportunity to those who can speak good English. He says Luyirika accuses those who speak broken English of wasting a lot of council time to elaborate their issues to the council.
However, both Luyirika and Musiri who was once a boyfriend to controversial Makerere university research fellow Dr Stellah Nyanzi insists that they are still in the race for the office of Makindye West legislator.
According to sources in NUP, Allan Ssewanyana the current legislator is likely to contest as an independent after realising that he is in bad books with Bobi Wine and some top leaders in NUP over allegations that he negotiated his release from prison with officials in president Museveni’s government in 2023 which he denies.
