The People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) Secretary General who also doubles as the Kira Municipality legislator has disagreed with National Unity Platform (NUP) Principal Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) on imprisoning President Museveni once he is kicked out of power.
Bobi Wine through his henchmen allegedly sent several petitions before the International Criminal Court pleading with developed countries to issue sanctions against the person of Museveni and a number of his top government officials
Bobi Wine assured his foot soldiers that when they take over power, they will make sure that Museveni is charged before the Courts of law and imprisoned as he did to them .
“I’m assuring you, very soon you will see Museveni arrested in Kenya or any other country and placed behind the bars,” Bobi Wine assured his supporters in one of the political rallies
However, Ssemujju asserts that he has always pleaded with his fellow opposition comrades not to make preparations of harassing Museveni when his government is overthrown.
“I felt bad seeing professor Wasswa Baluywa, one of the few people who worked for this country being remanded to prison because of that simple mistake he made when was serving this country. Even me, I don’t want to see myself in that situation which Baluywa faced, and I think time has reached to have a law protecting such people who have done good things for this country even though they made little mistakes,” Ssemujju said
Ssemujju explained that running a country is not an easy job. He noted that opposition can also take power and fail to run the country. That is the reason why when Museveni took power in 1986, he ran to President Julius Nyerere of Tanzania to help him with people who assisted him in organizing his new government and also talked to senior people like Dr Paul Kawanga Ssemogerere to join him.
Ssemujju also added that because of need for experienced people, it is the reason why when Bobi Wine’s NUP took over the leadership of the opposition in parliament, he looked for him and appointed him as the shadow finance minister even though he is not a legislator from his party.
