In an exclusive interview with this website, Hajji Isma Waligo the headteacher Kyadondo Secondary School has narrated the special factors that are making his school a sports giant in the country as he fights to widen their targets internationally.
He attributes the school’s success mostly to the good technical team which has a sharp eye in spotting talents in various sports categories and encouraging them to believe in themselves as they compete against strong historical sports schools.
“This trophy means a lot to me as a person” he stated after winning his first UMEA football boys title in the space of five months.
Kyadondo SS have been winning Schools’ sports competition titles and these include; Wakiso Hockey boys and Girls, U-16 USSSA boys, Matugga zone football boys, African kabaddi championship boys and girls and UMEA football boys in the space of five years

In the concluded UMEA games, which were played at Nkoma Secondary School in Mbale district, Kyadondo SS won their first UMEA football boys title after defeating Masaka Secondary School on 1:0 in the final game.
In the said tournament, Kyadondo SS defeated sports giant schools like Kawempe Muslims 2:1 at the round of 16, crushed Kibuli Secondary School at the quarter finals and Buziga Islamic School in the semifinals.
In 2025, Kyadondo Secondary School finished in 1st position in the USSSA football boys played in Ngora Secondary School and this year, emerged as the champion of Matugga zone in Wakiso USSSA football boys’ qualifiers.
Waligo boasted that because they exhibited superb talent in the Matugga zone football boys title, all eyes are now on Wakiso District qualifiers where only six slots are available for the Nationals.
He insists that he is very confident with his technical team that their boys will make it to the Nationals.
Waliggo assured parents, old boys and girls and supporters generally to be ready for very exciting football as it was exhibited in Mbale where they attracted thousands of fans.
Kyadondo Secondary School has a Soccer academy which plays in the FUFA football academy’s Championship.
